Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. 5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God. 6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
The Faith chapter. Faith is a crucial thing in the Christian life…without faith it is impossible to please him:
Faith believes Gods word !

7 By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
Why did Noah move with fear and build that ark? because he heard the word of God and his faith rested in Gods word. Faith believes Gods word.
11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
She had the promise of God, she had the Word of God. she simply rested in that, believed that ,and that is what faith is. Faith is believing Gods word.
Romans 10:17…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Our faith does not come by miracles. Many saw the mighty miracles of Jesus the mightyest miracles ever seen with their own eyes and they did not believe. Faith does not come by miracles. Jesus said to the Jews of that time , An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, faith does not come by miracles
Faith does not come by feelings you can not work that up, and try to get faith to equeat you feelings.
We read in Psalm 119 feeling are very undependable.Their very unstable.They change, and you can not establish you Christian faith on them. Faith is not feelings. In Psalm 119 we read about the man of God and his relationship with the word of God.
V25 My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.
We see he is very low in his feelings.
V28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. His soul is heavy and its melting that is his feelings.
V81My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.
He is fainting his soul is fainting inside of him.
Faith does not come by visions or voices or mystical experiences. Before I was saved I would tell God if your real make something happen. and it would not, what did that mean .nothing.!!! nothing!!!
