Has the reporting of abortion-related deaths improved since this article by Isabelle Bégin, a Canadian, independent health researcher exposed the ugly truth? Interesting to note the reasons why “legal abortion” is actually more dangerous and lethal than “illegal abortion”.
If you were one of the few billions of people around the world who thought we could count on the World Health Organization (WHO) for reliable statistics on abortion, brace yourself.
Unfortunately, some in the world health industry and political community have accepted or, at least, tolerated legal abortion only because it was regarded as “safe” for women, according to the WHO statistics. This conclusion was reached because no deaths were ever reported under the category of abortion in the cause-of-death publications throughout the world. And why was this? Not because the abortion procedure is safe, but rather, because the World Health Organization has a rule against reporting abortion deaths!
WHO’s coding rule no. 12, together with its recommendation no. 7, states that deaths due to medical and surgical treatment must be reported under the complication of the procedure and not under the condition or reason for treatment. In effect, this makes abortion a “ghost” category under which it is impossible to code a death.

ABostonCatholic,

If you disagree with the research findings of Isabelle Bégin have the courtesy to state your reasons. Name calling is not going to promote dialogue and an exchange of ideas. 🤷

So perhaps you may want to calmly state your case with intelligence rather than driving by shouting insults from your car window.

I believe the little winking face meant that ABostonCatholic was joking about that.

😦

Sad but not suprising…just shows that many are willing to overlook both the preborn & the mother in order to promote a supposedly “pro-woman”.

That’s right, but confusion always occurs on boards like this. Besides, with a name like “ABostonCatholic” it’s reasonable to assume I was serious.

🙂

It is not surprising that the pro-abortion side would falsify statistics and such to their own agenda.
