As advent approaches please keep in your prayers those families who’s Christmas will be blotched by the threat of eviction.
Also all those families who are currently homeless particularly those with young children.

Latest one I have come across:

Please share any other examples or prayers.

O Lord please help those in power to see the greater good of following Your ways.
Please protect the vulnerable:
“Give ear to their words, O Lord,
Consider their groaning.
Heed the sound of their cry for help,
our King and our God,
for to You we pray”.
We ask this through Christ Our Lord.
AMEN.

This is a great post, thank you for the reminder. Our local SVP shelter has indicated that they are serving a a record number of homeless families with children. May God give each and every family a warm and safe place to live.

Memorare

REMEMBER, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly to thee, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother; to thee do I come; before thee I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in thy mercy hear and answer me. Amen.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to their assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

Thank you MOUNTEE, yes it is exactly the same where I am, both in homeless shelters and the food banks.

These are ordinary hard-working families and individuals who were once living a normal life until they were bulldozed by the greed of the current economic system and politicians too gutless to do anything about it. Sadly, I am sure there are much worse cases than the one I have linked in the post.

It was bad enough when these things were happening abroad in the so called 3rd world but now they have also arrived right at our door step. Its times like these that I feel truly helpless.

This lady is a close friend of mine from music school. She was a very gifted clarinet player and has a masters degree in clarinet performance. However, she has had to give up the clarinet because of her intense physical pain in her joints. Her doctor suspects she has Ahler’s Danlov syndrome, for which there is little help other then pain management. She has worked through the pain for years, but she just can’t seem to catch a break. She and her husband and son live thousands of miles from any of his family, and as most of them are on welfare and in legal trouble, there’s little help they can offer. Her parents refuse to speak to her and they alienated themselves from their own families before she was born. She has never known any of her extended family except one uncle who has passed. What I’m getting at is, she has no support whatsoever, other then government assistance. I’m very worried about them, so please pray that she is able to find a job that isn’t so physical and that she can actually work without injuring herself and putting herself in constant pain.

I will add this to my list of prayers.
