A wonderful young man who would have turned 22 on New Year’s Day, decided to end his life yesterday. Peter was the youngest of 4 sons, was an Eagle Scout and had been active in the Church until he moved away in July to finish his last two years of college.
The gun that Peter used belonged to one of his roommates/Friends who is having a very difficult time with this.
Peter’s best friend who is discerning a call to the priesthood is devastated.
His family has not come to terms with the reality of the situation and is in shock. His mother who deals with depression is blaming herself and, I am afraid, this could push her over the edge.
All of us in the parish who watch Peter grow up, worked with him in Scouts, CYM and Young Adults are heartbroken.
Please pray for all concerned.
