My grandmother who passed away this past week kept a family Bible, and it has sections for marking baptisms, marriages, ordinations, deaths, etc. It’s in bad shape (the binding is pulling apart), so I want to transfer all of this to another Bible. Is anyone aware of any Bibles that have space for this? Thanks in advance.

That is very cool and I am happy you want to do this. Those types of bibles are still available, unfortunately I don’t have a name for any. Look for a Catholic bookstore in your area. Peace be with you

You might consider just having your grandma’s Bible rebound. There are Bible repair businesses in USA who will do this for you. I used Norris Bookbinding in Greenwood, MS to re-bind my FIL’s Bible. It isn’t cheap, but neither is buying a whole new Bible.

I am so glad you mentioned that, because I have some I need repaired.

I sent them an email, thanks! It’s probably going to be expensive, but it would be nice to see this one restored.

If you send them anything, be sure to use a lot of tracking and insurance and ship in a box with lots of postal tape. The company itself is fine but I have had a lot of issues when mailing books in the past, they seem to get lost more than anything else, especially if you rely on “book rate” (don’t do this for an heirloom Bible).

I will likely soon have to send them my husband’s grandma’s big Protestant bible. Husband loved his grandma as a child, and took her big ol’ falling-apart Bible even while he left his dad’s Bible and his own inscribed gift Bible (barely read) in the family home for us other family members to rescue from the estate sale heap.
