PRAYER TO BL. JANE OF AZA

Dearest Jane, we earnestly give to you our petitions this day. We have confidence in your intercession because you were once a wife and mother like so many of us. Born to a noble family, you were married to another noble and gave birth to five children. When the eldest two boys became priests, you went to the shrine of St. Dominic Silos to beg for another son to carry on the family name and line. Your prayers were answered in the form of a dream in which St. Dominic Silos came you and said this child would be a shining light for the Church.

A son was born to you, and you called him Dominic after the saint who commended your request to God. As he grew to manhood, it was evident that he had extraordinary virtue and grace. You too allowed him to study for the religious life. He was the founder of the Dominicans.

Since through a Saint’s petitions your urgent prayers were granted, we beseech you to listen to our prayers and lay them at the feet of Jesus. Please pray for our families, our children, for all those who have strayed from the Faith which you and your son so loved, and for all those who will die this day, especially priests and religious. I can not thank you all enough. The panic has subsided, the fear is growing weaker. We are spending our time doing what we can for others, from cutting grass to giving blood. We don’t have much but while giving what we have we are trying to be thankful for the ability to serve in small ways.

Thank you again. God truly has blessed you all with a great power, and I appreciate that you use it to help me and my family. I am back to trusting He has a plan for me, and trying to trust that His plan includes thing that I may not like, but are needed.

Prayer to Pope St. Sixtus II

Dear Pope St. Sixtus II, not much is known of your early life but as pope, you were responsible for the harmony between the eastern and western churches. In your short tenure of the papacy, you were an amazing example of peace, loyalty, and courage. You were martyred for your faith, and thus were the foundation that our modern Church was built on. Please pray for us who are still in this exile, the we may always keep forefront in our minds our ultimate destination and our ultimate Love. I also ask you to keep in your heart always the intentions I place before you today- for Nantiope’s family…Please bring these petitions to the throne of God and humbly present them to Him on our behalf.
