Hello and good morning,

Part 2

Famous Personalities (non Muslims) and Their Say About Islam
Sir George Bernard Shaw* in ‘The Genuine Islam,’ Vol. 1, No. 8, 1936.
*
“If any religion had the chance of ruling over England, nay Europe within the next hundred years, it could be Islam.”*

“I have always held the religion of Muhammad in high estimation because of its wonderful vitality. It is the only religion which appears to me to possess that assimilating capacity to the changing phase of existence which can make itself appeal to every age. I have studied him - the wonderful man and in my opinion for from being an anti-Christ, he must be called the Savior of Humanity."

"I believe that if a man like him were to assume the dictatorship of the modern world he would succeed in solving its problems in a way that would bring it the much needed peace and happiness: I have prophesied about the faith of Muhammad that it would be acceptable to the Europe of tomorrow as it is beginning to be acceptable to the Europe of today.”

Michael Hart in ‘The 100, A Ranking of the Most Influential Persons In History,’ New York, 1978.

My choice of Muhammad to lead the list of the world’s most influential persons may surprise some readers and may be questioned by others, but he was the only man in history who was supremely successful on both the secular and religious level
. …It is probable that the relative influence of Muhammad on Islam has been larger than the combined influence of Jesus Christ and St. Paul on Christianity. …It is this unparalleled combination of secular and religious influence which I feel entitles Muhammad to be considered the most influential single figure in human history.

Dr. William Draper in ‘History of Intellectual Development of Europe’

Four years after the death of Justinian, A.D. 569, was born in Mecca, in Arabia, the man who, of all men, has exercised the greatest influence upon the human race… To be the religious head of many empires, to guide the daily life of one-third of the human race, may perhaps justify the title of a Messenger of God.

Arthur Glyn Leonard in ‘Islam, Her Moral and Spiritual Values’

It was the genius of Muhammad, the spirit that he breathed into the Arabs through the soul of Islam that exalted them. That raised them out of the lethargy and low level of tribal stagnation up to the high watermark of national unity and empire. It was in the sublimity of Muhammad’s deism, the simplicity, the sobriety and purity it inculcated the fidelity of its founder to his own tenets, that acted on their moral and intellectual fiber with all the magnetism of true inspiration.

Philip K. Hitti
in ‘History of the Arabs’

Within a brief span of mortal life, Muhammad called forth of unpromising material, a nation, never welded before; in a country that was hitherto but a geographical expression he established a religion which in vast areas suppressed Christianity and Judaism, and laid the basis of an empire that was soon to embrace within its far flung boundaries the fairest provinces the then civilized world.

Rodwell in the Preface to his translation of the Holy Qur’an

Mohammad’s career is a wonderful instance of the force and life that resides in him who possesses an intense faith in God and in the unseen world. He will always be regarded as one of those who have had that influence over the faith, morals and whole earthly life of their fellow men, which none but a really great man ever did, or can exercise; and whose efforts to propagate a great verity will prosper.

W. Montgomery Watt
in ‘Muhammad at Mecca,’ Oxford, 1953.

His readiness to undergo persecution for his beliefs, the high moral character of the men who believed in him and looked up to him as a leader, and the greatness of his ultimate achievement - all argue his fundamental integrity. To suppose Muhammad an impostor raises more problems that it solves. Moreover, none of the great figures of history is so poorly appreciated in the West as Muhammad… Thus, not merely must we credit Muhammad with essential honesty and integrity of purpose, if we are to understand him at all; if we are to correct the errors we have inherited from the past, we must not forget the conclusive proof is a much stricter requirement than a show of plausibility, and in a matter such as this only to be attained with difficulty.

D. G. Hogarth
in ‘Arabia’

Serious or trivial, his daily behavior has instituted a canon which millions observe this day with conscious memory. No one regarded by any section of the human race as Perfect Man has ever been imitated so minutely.* The conduct of the founder of Christianity has not governed the ordinary life of his followers. *Moreover, no founder of a religion has left on so solitary an eminence as the Muslim apostle.

If they thought Islam was so grand, why didn’t they bow to Mecca and kiss Muhammad’s rock?

**Hello,

This isn’t considered spamming is it? I thought it was information pertaining to Islam from famous NON MUSLIMS. My apologies if it is considered, but from my heart, didn’t think it was. It was a genuine informative post from famous non muslims. I thought people would be interested in this to read and gain some knowledge.

my bad
I’d like to know mind why all these quotes couldn’t have gone in one thread instead of 3 seperate one.
I tried but it wouldn’t fit all in one post

**Hello,
Shaw the first person on your list is a fellow countryman of mine and he had some hilariously optimistic opinions about the Soviet Union after visiting it too… where is that now?
Well, this book he wrote is extremely FAMOUS. Still around today…and look where he put Jesus on the list as being.

Just thought it was interesting.

I’m more interested in where Jesus put Shaw on His list. I am sure Shaw now is too.

Your post is 100% correct, and gives americanconvert more attention than her post deserves.

**Hello,

Amazing, how yall put words and yall’s thoughts into mine as if I am thinkin and talkin like you. astaghfirAllah!

I quoted from Bernard Shaw and his famous best selling and STILL SELLING book and it wasn’t me or my words.

He is the one that you need to confront!

Did I categorize Jesus or did Bernard Shaw?

I’ll remember postin in sequence next time inshaAllah. thanks

.

Why do you think my post doesn’t deserve to be Isa?? Is it bothering you that so many famous people said nice things about Islam? Come on, be genuine…say you can’t stand it… instead you degrade a perfectly genuine post that many can benefit from…even muslims! sheesh

americanrevert**

**
Come come why did you mention it all if you do not to some extent agree with Shaw?
Shaw wrote a large ammount about an even larger ammount of subjects. I am not obliged to bow before the might Shavian altar of truth, he is merely another writer whose work can at times be amusing or perceptive and at other times dogmatic and witty in a sub-Wildean sort of manner.
As I say if I took his pronouncements on the Soviet Union seriously it would be amusing. George Orwell was far more prescient among left-wing writers as to what that really entailed.
Back your arguments logically from the Q’uran or within Islam I would say - not using popular (and not so popular) authors as if bestows some sort of intellectual air of fragrance to your claims.
Look, the post was about famous people saying nice things about Islam…of course I am gonna agree with anything nice said about it aren’t I?

man, I am not trying to back anything up here, just a post to show what people have said about it…sheesh is it that yall can’t stand what I posted??? * It was done out of truthfulness and sincerity and authentic quotes! * Not from me and I am not tryin to prove and shove Islam down your throats. man, yall be fair…you quote and you tell us how bad the religion of Islam is and when I have a perfectly genuine post that says nice things you jump down my throat! Not fair and a bit hypocritical to say the least.

americanrevert**

The quotes are nice enough, and I am not nearly well read enough to know their veracity, but, and I mean this without offence, my immediate thoughts are ‘‘so what?’’ Just because famous people say stuff it doesn’t make it true, sometimes it isn’t even worth listening to.

Quote a few Catholic Saints, popes, particularly holy and orthodox priests, monks or nuns, then you’ll have my attention 😃

your disingenousness has already answered:

Someone has already mentioned Carlysle’s assessment of the Quran versus your quote of him on Muhammad. Have you confronted Carlysle?
…say you can’t stand it…
sloppy thinking and slipshod citation, no, I have litte patience for it.
instead you degrade a perfectly genuine post that many can benefit from…even muslims! sheesh

you can sing to the choir all your want. I still notice that you are off key.

I have one

“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” Jesus.

Hypocrisy? Watch out for that log.😃
Hello and good mornin :),

Thomas Carlyle in ‘Heroes and Hero Worship and the Heroic in History,’ 1840

“The lies (Western slander) which well-meaning zeal has heaped round this man (Muhammad) are disgraceful to ourselves only.”

A silent great soul, one of that who cannot but be earnest. He was to kindle the world, the world’s Maker had ordered so.
LOL

thomas carlyle, the first person in your list, also has an opinion about the quran:

. . . **I must say, it [the Koran] is as toilsome reading as I ever undertook. A wearisome confused jumble, crude, incondite; endless iterations, long-windedness, entanglement; most crude, incondite; — insupportable stupidity, in short! Nothing but a sense of duty could carry any European through the Koran **. . .

i wonder if there’s any similiar comments from the others

LOL
**Hello,

I do not know where you got this quote from, but the one I posted is genuine and FAMOUS and still selling.**

So’s snake oil. There’s one born every minute.

There are, but don’t expect americanconvert to post them.

More sayings about Islam and Muhammad from non-Muslims:

MARCO POLO (WORLD TRAVELLER)
“. The law which their prophet Mohamed has given to muslims is that any harm done to any one who does not accept their law and any appropriation of his goods, is no sin at all”.

**JOHN QUINCY ADAMS (U.S. PRESIDENT) **

”THE ESSENCE OF MOHAMMED’S DOCTRINE WAS VIOLENCE AND LUST: TO EXALT THE BRUTAL OVER THE SPIRITUAL PART OF HUMAN NATURE”.

**PROF ****BERTRAND RUSSELL (PHILISOPHER) **

“Over a billion people believe in Allah without truly knowing what Allah supposedly stands for or what he really demands of them. And the minority that do understand continue to be Moslems because they have redefined their morality and ethics to fit within the teachings of Islam, which are floridly lacking in morality. They therefore redefine what is good and evil in order to fit their lives into what is preached by Islam, instead of examining Islam to see if it fits within the good life. Backwards thinking, imposed by a backward religion”.

****SIR WINSTON CHURCHILL (BRTI PRIME MINISTER)

****Churchill, W - The River War 1899: **
"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.”

ALEXIS DE TOCQVILLE (FRENCH THINKER/HISTORIAN)

“I studied the Kuran a great deal … I came away from that study with the conviction that by and large there have been few religions in the world as deadly to men as that of Muhammed”

EARNEST RENAN (FRENCH THINKER)

**“**Muslims are the first victims of Islam. Many times I have observed in my travels that fanaticism comes from a small number of dangerous men who maintain others in the practice of this religion by terror. To liberate the Muslim from his religion is the best service that one can render him”.

WILL DURANT (U.S. HISTORIAN)

“The Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex of order and freedom, culture and peace, can at any moment be overthrown by barbarians invading from without or multiplying within.”

KONRERAAD ELST (BELGIAN HISTORIAN)

“The Muslim conquests, down to the 16th century, were for the Hindus a pure struggle of life and death. Entire cities were burnt down and the populations massacred, with hundreds of thousands killed in every campaign, and similar numbers deported as slaves. Every new invader made (often literally) his hills of Hindus skulls. As a contribution to research on the quantity of the Islamic crimes against humanity, we may mention that the Indian (subcontinent) population decreased by 80 million between 1000 (conquest of Afghanistan) and 1525 (end of Delhi Sultanat)”

POPE BENEDICT/BYZANTINE EMPEROR PALEOGUS

**"Show me just what Prophet Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached.”

BRIGGITE GABRIEL (WRITER)

******“********Islamic societies are suffocated by shackles around the human spirit and brain. Islamic theology is driven by machoism, dominance, intolerance, submission and violence to all that disagrees with Islam’s principles of law”: **

******DR. KHUSHWANT SINGH (PROFESSOR) ******

“The most successful lecherous man who used religion for his personal gain is Prophet Mohammed. Islam is a cult with it’s complete irrational belief in Allah created by Muhammed who was a liar, thief, murderer and rapist till his last breath”.

Dr.R. BRAHAMCHARI (PHYSICIST)

.” Allah is a cruel tyrant, a barbaric killer and a violent despot . Islamic Umma is the biggest criminal gang on earth and Allah is leader and guide of that criminal gang and is trying to establish himself as the God of the world (not of the universe) with the help of the mujahidin through terror and bloodshed”.

Dr. B.R.AMBEDKAR ( THE FATHER OF INDIAN CONSTITUTION)

“Islam is a false and dangerous way of living”.
