If you use a Ladycomp or Ovacue machine for NFP, I want to hear from you. Do you like it or not? Good or bad results?

I didn’t want to derail any other threads, and I am looking for honest opinions on these (or similar) machines. I’m only interested in hearing about the super-duper expensive ones. 😛 All (name removed by moderator)ut appreciated.

Edit: I know we’ve had threads like this before, but I believe Ladycomp has some very new machines. Looking for experience with recent models.

Are you interested in monitors which track hormones in urine, like the Clearblue ones, or only temperature-based monitors? Not quite so expensive (“only” a couple of hundred bucks 😛 ), but still up there. I can tell you about my experience with that if you are interested, but don’t want to clutter up your thread if you aren’t. 🙂

Just the temp models for now. Thanks though. 🙂

LadyComp user and fan here! Hubby and I are going to be 2 years married this upcoming December. He bought me the LadyComp a month or earlier before the wedding day because we read that it takes one or few cycles to get to know the woman’s fertility better and give more green lights (meaning infertile). LadyComp works even for those with irregular cycles and PCOS. It is really smart and does a great job. It really works. The LC calculates everything for you and you decide if you abstain or not if she gives you green, yellow or red light. Unlike some BBT thermometers, you don’t have to chart your temp and analyze it nor guess if it’s fertile or not, or commit human error interpreting it. LC analyzes it for you. Also while interpreting BBT chart does tell you when you have ovulated, it will not necessarily help you predict your future ovulation with accuracy.

LC is programmed with a database of more than 900,000 cycles and uses bio-mathematical forecasting calculations and computer techniques to predict your fertile days, primarily based on your morning body temperature.

We had sex on yellow days (not recommended if you are postponing pregnancy) and we had sex two days that were red (meaning fertile) because my hubby was away on a business trip and when he got home, he did not mind…newlyweds…and yes, as a result, we conceived. 😃 So if you plan to postpone pregnancy for now, make you to follow the lights faithfully.

I hope CallMeDad can give you better testimony.

EDIT/ADD:
I’m currently breastfeeding but I got my cycles back months ago, but my current cycle is crazy. My cycles are usually of 30 days, but I’m on my 43rd day of the current cycle. It is not pregnancy, it is hormone imbalance, and if I put the temperatures that the LC read on my OvuView app to visualize it, my chart looks like those women who have PCOS. But during all this time, LC has given me red lights until 2 days ago that turned green. I’m expecting menstruation soon after day 45. What I’m trying to say is that LC works even though you are irregular or suffer from hormonal imbalance due to childbirth and breastfeeding.

I love my LadyComp, but when the thermometer started acting off (planning to send it in to get fixed soon), I switched to using a cheap BBT thermometer + a charting site and that worked just fine, as well.
