T…how could this being happening to me when I love my husband and we have a prayerful solid marriage!?!..
Because “We fight not against flesh and blood but powers and principalities” and you are a young wife and mother with a good marriage and the evil one zooms in in hopes of causing ruin. Inthis case he could not only destroy a good marriage (such a threat!) and the family life of a child but even cause the deep pain of betrayal in more than one person, and debilitating guilt in two, possibly driving you all away from the Lord’s loving arms in your pain and shame! So that’s how it can happen to you. But the evil ones antics are a pittance next to the grace of God.

You already have good advice, I will just throw mine in for good measure.

I was in a bad marraige and did not want to violate my vows, and because of that void in my life, on more than one occasion [the draw for me was a man was kind to me, and there was little kindness in my marraige] I would get a crush. The first time was the hardest. But I found that confessing my adulterous feelings (we have committed adultery if we look at another with lust) - and I was not Catholic, so, this confession was to prayerful devout friends so that I would not be alone with my feelings, and asking them to pray for me and being accountable to them and asking God to take it away and avoiding the person - killed it fairly fast and very certainly. Eventually the evil one gave up on this one for me because I knew what to do and did it fast. God takes away those feelings you don’t want to have and makes you forget them, if you ask him to, and if you are determined to do whatever you can with His help.

Now I am Catholic, and if God forbid I were ever in this position again I would take it to confession, as often as I needed until it was gone. If you are in a crisis, there is probably a parish within driving distance that has daily confession until you get out of the weeds, if needed.

The sexual tension your sister noticed - its noticeable! People see.

You will have to avoid the near occasion of sin by praying in this guy’s presence, asking God to put blinders on you for this other man, asking God to help you love your husband even more at this moment, perhaps using the occasion to talk up your husband and your life with him, cuddling with your husband, etc., just making that boundary known. And meanwhile, loving your husband best you can! And maybe enrich the good you have with a marriage encounter weekend!
