I’m been a devout catholic for a few years now and I believe salvation is found only through Christ’s church
But studying Shi’a Islam has really brought a strong interest in me for Ahl al-Bayt the family of Muhammad i.e him Fatima Ali and their descendants
The story of Husayn is extremely tragic and their extreme love of Fatima the imams etc is unbelievable, when asking them about them and their stories alot burst into tears

I don’t know how to explain it , it’s almost leading away from my faith a little bit but I know for a fact Christ is the Divine son of God and he established the catholic church
But how can there a group of people so fearless so devour like the Shi’a are ???
Is this just my fascination just out of interest or is it something more ???

It is of the heart, the heart can guide, but it should not lead you away from the Love of Jesus the Christ. Have Faith that nothing can be taken away from Christ and His Sacrifice.

You should stop studying Mohammedanism and strengthen yourself in the Catholic Faith through study & prayer since studying the stories around Mohammed is leading you away from the Church. Anybody can be fervent for anything, just like how Hitler and his followers were quite fervent in their unholy cause. Fervency doesn’t equal truth, and anyone can cry over a story.

I respect all religions and believe all contain at least some truth. And Islam has positives as its strict monotheism.

That being said, there’s no in between with Jesus. You are either with Him or you aren’t.

Islam hasn’t properly identified Jesus. If you are a Christian you know exactly who He is. It would be incredibly foolish to risk your eternal soul over some infatuation.

God is jealous and he is unchanging. We can’t account for sin as Islam claims. Need a pure sacrifice. You have that already in the Mass . Glory to God

I think it is clear you need to stop studying Islam and a deeper study of Catholicism will help. You’ll find plenty of love, fearlessness, sacrifice, devotion and tragedy.

Growing up, we would often study other religions or cults in school or Sunday school. The instructors always warned us not to study these beliefs on our own because it was too easy for Satan to take hold of our minds and lead us away from Christianity. We were warned it could be dangerous for some of us so we shouldn’t take the risk. I think you fall into the category of person it is dangerous for.

Remember the above advice, your heart is your best guide.

Not that it’s pulling me away from the church but that there’s something there is do find beautiful
I still know for Fact Christ is Lord and that he built his church and gave us the sacraments but there’s alot in Shi’a Islam that is similar to catholicism and I do believe as Fulton sheen explained through our Lady of Fatima they will be converted and Shi’a love Fatima like no other

But pray for me all you guys , I have no intentions leaving the church Christ has guided me to but I just wanted to share with you guys this

**I think that if more people took the time to study Islam in the way that you have then there would be a greater understanding of that religion, less unwarranted prejudice against it,
and a greater love for our brothers and sisters in Islam.

Thank you for sharing.**

Bravo dear friend, bravo!!

It’s far from a fascination. The human heart will always be touched by the spirit of God. May your heart stay pure and in Christ in the manner you have shown always and forever!

God bless you

Here’s what the Prophet Jeremiah has to say about the heart left unchecked in chapter 17:9
The heart is perverse above all things, and unsearchable, who can know it?
In every religion, God has left types and shadows of the truth, beautiful markers of the path to the fullness to come. When we see these as they are in paganism, native religions, or Islam, it can give us an appreciation for the perfection of the love of God. We must not be so drawn to the replica, though, that it begins to overshadow our love for the true masterpiece. Take care, friend.

That is why God gave Love so our heart can know what is good.

Love builds bridges, not walls, whoever builds walls is not a Christian. I think Pope Francis said that recently.👍

I agree with this wholeheartedly. As long as your faith is fully grounded in the Holy Trinity, I think it is a beautiful thing to keep an open mind and see where others are coming from.

God bless,

there are fanatical devotees of virtually any significant belief system. i do not see fanatic devotion as anything, in and of itself, particularly impressive or significant.

heck, there are even fanatic devotees of the TV serious star trek and the star war movies.

because Jesus is the Light of the World, we can be pretty sure that those who do not know Him or reject Him are living in darkness and confusion.

the christian thing to do for people living in darkness and confusion is to pray for them, that they see the Light of the World clearly, believe in Him and render unto Him the praise, honor and glory that belongs to Him alone as the only Incarnation of the Second Person of the Holy Trinity.

besides praying for them, practicing the corporal and spiritual works of mercy in this world is also a way to demonstrate to them the Light of the World. in other words, witnessing to the glory of the Lord revealed in His Only Son, Jesus Christ is a very effective way of leading people to Christ.
