I still can’t believe it!
These two very famous gay fashion icons are DEFENDING traditional marriage, traditional families and blasting IVF across the board as “synthetic” and “cruel” stating that surrogacy cruelly rips a baby away from its mother.
I feel like its April 1st and someone is going to say it was a publicity stunt but I’m trying to give these guys the benefit of the doubt. This is a not something ANYONE could ever have imagined happening. Pity I don’t read Italian as this all came out in an interview. Just yesterday my daughter was wondering if anyone in the gay community was in favor of traditional families. I had to speculate probably not so seeing this blow up on every news outlet around the globe today almost made me pass out.
Gabbana stated that he couldn’t have imagined being raised without his mother in a traditional home which really touched me. Everyone in their community is screaming BOYCOTT and some famous people are burning their DB clothing saying that these men are bigots but I don’t see it like that. They are looking at the drawbacks of raising/creating kids outside of the traditional norms and stating that in their OPINION they are not in favor of this. They seem to be saying that they value children and want what they feel is best for children-not what will make adults happy. Shouldn’t all of us be in favor of whats best for kids-everyone’s kids-not just our own?
I don’t know what brought DB to this place of needing to speak publicly about this issue. Being Italians I wonder if they came up Catholic and still held on to some of the truths of church teaching, who knows. Its no stretch to imagine their brand, image, livelihood-every inch of their public and a huge portion of their private lives have now been decimated because they now have the scarlet letter ‘B’ stamped on them. They are definitely the betrayers of their whole community
My deepest sympathy goes out to them. This is not going to be a picnic;they may be forced to retract;they may regret saying a word of it one day but thank goodness they had the courage that sadly a lot of us lack. Hopefully other high profile people will offer support
