If you eat a couple hours before Mass, then while you are in Mass, you have a little bit of food wiggle its way out of your teeth (that it had been stuck in) and you swallow it. You know it’s food because you can taste it. Should you not receive communion because of the 1-hour fast?

The only food that breaks the fast is food you put into your mouth during the hour before Communion. Residue in your teeth from an earlier meal does not break the fast.

you are not eating or drinking (other than water) so …no it does not.

Brush your teeth before Mass. Especially if you receive COTT.

You should brush and floss them twice a day, whether you receive or not. :slapfight:

Incidentally, the fast must only be an hour before communion, not necessarily an hour before Mass time.
