So today during mass I didn’t take Communion. After the mass I went to say bye to my priest and he asked why I didn’t receive communion. I told him I was in mortal sin. He asked what gave you a guilty conscience, I said I lusted, but I didn’t say any other sin. I think I committed another a sin but I didn’t know it was mortal. After he absolved me and I recieve communion. My question is, what if I committed a mortal sin, but I didn’t tell him what it was, is the Absolution invalif? I feel like there was another sin but I was just too confused to answer given the quick confession it was

Absolution forgives you of all your sins. If you forgot one, you can bring it up the next time you go to confession. You cannot deliberately withhold sins in confession, but it is not uncommon to lack organization and memory at confession, especially on the fly like this!

Most of my confessions are fast ones although I had confession with a brand new priest once and I was there for ages.

The whole point of this sacrament is to bring peace, not torment. You didn’t deliberate hold anything back. If something comes to mind later you can confess it. Be at peace!

If you’re merely worried, you probably didn’t. Voice your concern to your confessor next time you go. They’ll know better than any of us (and perhaps yourself).

I think I committed another a sin but I didn’t know it was mortal.
In order for a sin to be mortal it must be:

Serious matter.

You must know it is a sin

You do it on purpose

So, as you do not even know if you committed this other sin, it could not meet the conditions for mortal sin.
