I know on fasting and abstinence days the Church says one full meal and two smaller meals that don’t add up to a full meal.
Would three small meals throughout the day that add up to a full meal be the same?

For instance I had one egg two slices of bread in the morning, a small bowl of quinoa at around lunch and for dinner an egg two slices of bread and a tiny turnip.

I would say that yes, it would be okay, especially for medical reasons such as maintaining a stable blood sugar level, for example. I tended to eat two snacks (technically not small meals) and one normal meal, and I count that as fasting, because I am and may not normally eat as such. I think the ultimate goal is to fast and try our best to honor the Lord and the Church’s wishes.

The turnip was about 2 inches in diameter.
Maybe it was something else but it was labeled turnip where I purchased it.

Before more posts are on this thread, it’s probably worth mentioning I’m in the process of some blood tests with my doctor regarding low hemoglobin or a possible thyroid condition, as of yet I don’t know.

this for real? I’ve put my novel down for this? A 2 inch turnip. Truly, I can’t stop laughing.
In hindsight I’m laughing as well.
Which is good, I don’t receive much joy in my life apart from Jesus, thank you for bringing some laughter my way.

God bless you.

Turnips have nothing to do with thyroid issues or anemia. I hope your doc didn’t tell you that. (Stifles chuckle)
