I am burdened. Can I go to Confession and just let the Priest know of my worries and fears in life instead of confessing my sin?

Also, I try to fast but I suffer from depression. Around 1:30 I give in because I am so tired. What do you think I should do? I hope it’s not sin to give in.

Thanks

Hello,

Since you said you suffer from depression, and you don’t have any sins to confess, why don’t you call your Priest and set up an appointment to talk to him? Also, it may be a good idea to speak to a counselor, as well. Because you suffer from depression, I wouldn’t think it’s a sin for you to give in to breaking your fast, however this is something you should ask your Priest, as he will know and give you a better answer than I can. I will keep you in my prayers.

Talk to your priest first and foremost. He is there to help and guide.

I suffer from Anxiety and Depression but the meds i am on (For last 10 years) have helped a lot. Going to mass has really helped me. I do get days when i am down etc etc.

I am only human and my prayer life can be up and down and all around!

Again, i say, see your priest. Talk to him and hear God speak through him.

God bless you

It’s not a sin to break a fast, not at all, for the vast majority of the year - who has told you otherwise?

The only two days we are obliged to fast are Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, and even those are hedged about with exemptions (illness, age, breastfeeding etc.)

I can’t fast because my medications require that I eat before taking them. I spoke with a Priest about it, and he told me I’m dispensed from fasting for that reason. I’d definitely talk my my Priest. God bless!

You should speak with your priest who will be able to give you proper quidance and direction.
