On Good Friday, I ate two small meals, then went out for a regular meal at a sandwich shop. The person I went with couldn’t finish their fries so I finished them(about half the amount they give). Would this be a state of mortal sin for taking the extra fries? Thanks.

A sandwich and the amount of fries I’d get at say, Sunset Boulevard, does not equate to “one full meal” as my mom would cook it. Second helpings is also not a second meal, and eating half an extra portion of fries hardly counts as second helpings.
Edit: Not even close to sinful, unless your friend acted out of exceptional gluttony (rather than the natural hunger that fasting brings).

He’s not a glutton
And I wouldn’t dream of accusing him. I was just trying to add a bit more context to where I would start considering sin, if I were in your friend’s shoes. 😉
