Fasting on Christmas Day

Hello! Because Christmas Day is on the Friday this year, and presumably we don’t need to abstain from meat on Christmas Day - what with it being a day of celebration - are we required then, to abstain on a different day, from meat - today or tomorrow, maybe?

No. Christmas Day being a solemnity it is not a day of penance or abstinence and there is no requirement to transfer doing penance to another day. That being said, before the laws were relaxed, the 24th was a day of fasting and abstinence if you wish to celebrate a more fruitful Christmas Day.
