Fasting over 60?

Am I correct in my understanding of this Canon Law - that if a person is over 60 they “may” or may not participate in the fasting requirements? That - even if one is healthy - they may still chose to fast or not - so that fasting for them is not a sin? Thanks.
 
You are correct. Fasting is not required of someone who has reached the age of 60. Such an individual may freely choose to fast but that is a decision that is up to them.
