Let’s say someone was eating a small bean burrito at 11:55 PM the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday and finished at 12:05 AM.

Would this burrito count as part of the two small meals that do not equal one meal for Ash Wednesday or since it was eaten starting the day before, does it even count? 😃

Also, what is the definition of “one full meal”? Would this depend on what constitutes a regular meal for an individual?

If you then went to sleep and woke up on Wednesday morning, your first meal after waking up would be your first meal of Wednesday.

Of course, the fasting on Wednesday also has to follow the same rule - you don’t get to start eating at midnight - you have to wait until you wake up on Thursday morning. (But if you slept from 4:00 pm until midnight, and started your Thursday at midnight, then for you, it would be Thursday, and you could eat.) 😉

I would define it as, the protein component, the starch component, the vegetable component, the salad, the bun, and the sweet, together with coffee or tea and juice, water, or milk.
