Is it okay to fast during the Easter season?
You are obliged to fast only on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
Any other fasting is voluntary but should not be undertaken lightly. Depending on what type of fasting you want to undertake you should check with your doctor first.

Thank you.

It isn’t really appropriate to fast during Easter Season for a layperson, except on Fridays. If you have some special reason for doing so more often, during this season that is rather excessive and I’d just go over it with a priest to ask if he thinks it’s in the proper spirit and will be good for you.

Whatever you do, remember: Fasting isnt a diet, it includes increased prayer.

It is definitely not appropriate to fast during Easter week because that is an extension of Easter Sunday, but I’m not sure why that would extend to Pentecost. I do a bread and water fast once a week to stop abortion, and since the abortions are still going during Easter season, I feel it’s important I continue that fast. To be honest, I would love to have a reason not to do it, but I can’t in good conscience. I really do hate fasting, but it’s one of the most powerful spiritual tools we have.

I do beleive that fasting,is a good thing, durning Lent,it shows we love Jesus and what Jesus to know that we are doing it ,because of his Love for us. :harp:
