Father Corapi can let his beard grow longer, color it, not color it or shave it off.

To me Father Corapi is awesome at delivering the message and needs prayers (and he has said so in his talks).

He’s the only one on radio where when I’m out driving and listening to him, I’ll wait to turn my car off until his program is finished.

I am not in the US and don’t watch EWTN that often, as it is cleary an American show for an American audience for the most part. I watched it recently and saw this Fr Corapi give a talk from 2003. Afterwards he was talking about something else and it was clearly him very recently. He did look thinner, deeply tanned, dyed beard and has had his teeth done. I thought, “Extreme Makover”. How much did that set of gnashers cost ? Makes him look like a complete fake. It is vanity for a religious or priest to take such drastic measures. Could you imagine Fr Groeshel going same route ? Dear God, as the saying goes, “Only in America.” I’ve always had the impression he likes the sound of his own voice just a little too much and after this I won’t be wanting to hear it at all. Fake.

i know during easter he was on tv and i heard him say that he had to get a personal trainer under orders of his doctor cause of his condition.

hope that helps

I watched him this morning talking about Jesus and Mary and was very good. He was his old self, not dyed beard and looked healthy as a trout. He looks fine as he is. What is it with Americans and changing image ? God made you as you are and you should accept what you are given. Vanity, vanity all is vanity. A priest or religious should not give in to such vain aspirations. It takes away from a good message. I wonder if Christ dyed his beard. Then again he was only 33 when he died. It’s not ‘gossip’ to call a spade a spade. I’d say it to his face. Talking about coming one with Jesus and having an extreme makeover sounds a tad hollow don’t you think 🙂

God bless him anyway, and us all.

I think I will follow his example and get bubble butt implants. Fore you all get on your high horses - God has a sense of humour too.

I don’t watch much, but I do need to ask this question.

How does a TV watcher tell the difference between a man who got dentures due to severe dental problems and someone who got lots of cosmetic dental work performed just by watching before and after TV shows?

Answer: he can’t.

Methinks you are assuming the worst of him. You may want to ponder that a bit.

As I said, I know very little about this priest except that he has an amazing conversion story from a life of wealth, success, drugs abuse and loss to conversion to Christ. If that drug abuse included meth use, you probably owe him an apology. Meth is murder on teeth.

Being significantly thinner can make one’s teeth look like “false teeth”.

I am sorry this thread took a turn from wishing him well and good health to a bashing of his thinness/not thinness ---- false teeth/rehabbed teeth/denture work -----tan/pale-----dyed hair/grey hair.

The man is an awesome priest with an awesome conversion story and I love to hear his preaching. God bless him and I hope he is around for a long, long time. We need good priests like this one. 👍

I just saw Father Corapi on EWTN today and clearly he is coloring his beard. I find that disconcerting.

How sad. 😦 Prayers for Fr. Corapi! He is one of my favorite priests.

Sometimes medications can do weird things to people’s hair. Chemotherapy makes it fall out but other medications can make it darker or thicken it. That could be the reason for the beard change. No big deal whatever the reason. Maybe he’s trying to help himself by exercising and changing his look to help himself. People can get depressed when they’re sick. Give the guy a break!

Another thought…sometimes white hair turns a yellowish color unless a colorant is applied. Maybe this is the reason.
As I said, I don’t care about it. I just like to listen to his homilies.

I don’t think Fr. Corapi has his beard black just to look young. I think the style of his beard is better in black than in white don’t you think?

…and with his shaven head and black priestly outfit, black beard makes a better impression too.

Just cuz one is a priest, one doesn’t have to look like a dork and Fr. Corapi is certainly NOT that.

His outlook is one to be reckoned with.

Father Corapi’s own comments from an interview posted by Patrick Novecosky

How is your health these days?

Excellent. I was incapacitated for about eight months. Even the Mayo Clinic had difficulty getting the diagnosis right. It turned out to be two very simple things: an acute Vitamin D deficiency and chronic sleep deprivation. Those two things together disrupted my immune system. Now I’m back to normal.

How has your ministry changed since your recovery?

“I never stopped my ministry. I was sick for a while, but I think the part you mean is the traveling. Before I became sick, we had already decided to stop traveling for a while. We had no idea that I would become sick, but if I had my normal 35-40 events per year scheduled it would have been a catastrophe.”

“The decision to not travel so much is based mainly on my mission, established by my superiors, to preach using the means of social communication — television, radio and the Internet. We reach millions of people that way.”

Don’t know about the new beard he is sporting.

Well, being vit. D deficiant SEVERLY would call for high dose of Vit. D3, and SUN!!! No sun… NO D… simple as that!

The modest thing to do would be do expose his face, arms, maybe legs??? Hence the tan face?

I wondered if a D def. effects hair color. As I’m always LOW, and I went gray VERY fast! Not even 40 yet… SOLID! And yes, I’m vain enough to keep it colored. I also look ill with gray. The short article eludes to an impact not only on skin color but also hair… but does not elaborate.

Blurb on impact hair and skin color

Regarding teeth…It’s mentioned that he was suffering migrains. Which can be a result from poor tooth elignment. So it makes sense that he would have that corrected.

It’s hardly like he’s turned himself into some Hollywood hottie… I would assume that anything that LOOKS better was done for his health.
