Father figures?

Has anyone looked uo to their priest as a father figure? Or wished that hed some how adopt you? I feel like this towards mine because I deally cant trust my parents as well as I can trust my priest. I know he wont judge me or anything. I never knew my real dad and my step dad is a real jerk. Is this morally wrong? Is this sinful?

Hi Lo Sono Amore. I have looked up to a priest as a father figure. The only other decent one I’ve had in life was my grandpa(I also had a step dad from 8-13, but he wasn’t a good role-model), since I was raised by my single mother, but grandpa died when I was 12 and I met the priest when I was 19. I personally don’t feel hardly any closeness to my family as I do the priest. He left the parish in the town I live in, but I still keep in contact with him, especially since I’m discerning religious life. I can’t see anything sinful about what you’re feeling. The only potential problem would be if you’re somehow not respecting your parents because of the feeling.
