I turn to my CAF family and Prayer Warriors to seek your prayers for a friend who just called me to ask for prayers. Her father has just been diagnosed with a large aneurysm linked to the main aorta and she sounded so fragile and scared.

Please join me in this appeal to Our Father (a prayer from another site but appropriate for this situation):

*Father, we lift up this person to You. *
*It is written that the prayer of faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. *
*It is also written that by the stripes of Christ we are healed. *
We claim this healing for this person suffering from an aneurysm.
*We are standing on Your Word in faith! *

*Father, we thank You that there is no illness too great for You to heal. That You are a God with whom ALL things are possible! *

Father, send them the Holy Spirit to comfort them in this storm!
*We leave this precious soul in Your loving arms! *
We thank You for all You will do! In Jesus’ name.

Amen.

If anyone plans to visit a tabernacle for adoration I’d appreciate including this family in your prayers. I will stop by church on my way home from work.

Thank you. 🙂

I know it is scary and very dangerous surgery. But my friend had the same thing a couple years ago. They didn’t expect her to make it. We just had lunch on Tuesday and she is fine. Praying all goes well for your friends father.

Praying…Hail Mary…

That is good to know. I didn’t even get a chance to ask if he was going into surgery, she was on the brink of tears as it was, but he was recently in the hospital and I know he went back on Wednesday so I’m hoping he’s been there all along. I wish I could call her to let her know of your friend’s success but I don’t want to disturb her if she’s at the hospital.

Thank you all for your prayers.

Thank you for your prayers. I have no news to report as of yet.

However, not unusually for God’s way, when I got home last night I learned from my sister that my father has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his brain that the doctors will be examining closer on June 3rd. :o

It was his birthday yesterday so I called to wish him well and he did sound not like his usual self. You could hear the fear in his voice, he was tired, he didn’t joke about anything, spoke slowly. 😦

Anyway, I’d appreciate including him and his doctors with the prayers for my friend’s dad as well. Odd that Father’s Day is around the corner. I guess I’ll include all fathers as I pray for mine.

From Catholic online (I’m not a good spontaneous prayer person):
  • St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus** and chaste husband of Mary, you passed your life in loving fulfillment of duty. You supported the holy family of Nazareth with the work of your hands. Kindly protect those who trustingly come to you. You know their aspirations, their hardships, their hopes. They look to you because they know you will understand and protect them. You too knew trial, labor and weariness. But amid the worries of material life your soul was full of deep peace and sang out in true joy through intimacy with God’s Son entrusted to you and with Mary, his tender Mother. Assure those you protect that they do not labor alone. Teach them to find Jesus near them and to watch over him faithfully as you have done*.
Amen.

MY PRAYERS ARE SHOUTING TO THE HEAVENS FOR THIS FAMILY. May God love them and bring quick healing and hope.

Surgery went well for my friend’s father, thank you.
He’ll remain in the hospital a while longer so your continued prayers would be appreciated.

As for my father, we were right about him not being himself on his birthday. Sister took him to the hospital today and the catscan showed another stroke since the one on the 15th. Neurologist will be by to see him later this evening. My brothers were able to fly home but I can’t get away before the 7th of June. I’ll attend daily mass until I can get home. My siblings will call me tomorrow to discuss having reached ‘this stage’ of our parents’ lives. Thank goodness for SKYPE technology.

Anyway, your prayers are most appreciated and truly carry me though the day. 🙂

Praise God for your Friends father!
I will now concentrate my prayers for your father.
God Bless,
Pam

Praying for your father.

My father’s a stroke survivor too. He came back from having a 50/50 chance of making it through the night to living a near-normal life in a wheelchair, though paralyzed on one side.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen

Thank you for the good news. We’re pretty confident my father will pull through ok as well, this last stroke seems to have affected his vision, but his speech, humor and memory are good - for now. I’ve asked him to please share any information about the living will and such with my siblings while they’re there since the next stroke might leave him unable to speak. I think he’ll comply.

Last update was they were waiting for results of an MRI. Still waiting for that news and praying. It means so much to me to know I have the CAF family to join me in my efforts. Thank you so much!

Heavenly Father please heal YinYangMom’s father and comfort her and her family in this trying time. Amen. :signofcross:
