To me, the “superstition” that the Catholic Church disapproves of is a very “tricky” issue, requiring great sensitivity and respectfulness for the supernatural things of God and for the habits and feelings of the Faithful. This priest on Relevant Radio lacks seems to lack this sensitivity and respectfulness. He is very cavalier. He jokes. He laughs. He mocks. Behind his joking “Father Know-It-All” (that’s what he calls himself on the radio) persona is, I think, someone who gives an ultra-liberal interpretation to all Catholic matters, and someone who has little or no toleration for Catholics who are of a more conservative or traditional viewpoint. But I hope I am not unjustly disparaging this priest. I listened to about 11 minutes of his radio show. The popes and bishops have generally been very supportive of the popular devotions of the laity, even if these popular devotions are not always perfectly theologically correct.

I didn’t like his approach to the subject of superstition. And so, I guess my reaction was similar the your reaction.
