Who is he? I recently received in the mail from The Fatima Center a long tract on how he is ‘complicit in the persecution of the Church in Russia because you have abandoned the cause of Russia’s conversion for the sake of a failed human program of "ecumenical dialogue.’ In fact, you use your ‘respectable apostolate to oppose the consecration of Russia, as you date to collect money from the faithful in the name of Our Lady of Fatima.’

Apparently, he insists that Russia was consecrated when Pope John Paul II consecrated the world to the Immaculate Heart, as Our Lady had commanded to the three children at 1917.

It was definitely a serious indictment of this man.

Can anyone enlighten me on who this priest is? Is he working against the faith?

I happen to be a devotee of our Lady of Fatima and the message and this concerns me.

Thanks.

Stjomo,

Here’s a bio

dailycatholic.org/issue/2000May/rjfox100.htm

He is a conservative priest who appears to be very respectably working within the Church’s mainstream Fatima apostolate. Not sure, from your post, how that means you would classify him.

Many years,

Neil

No he is not working against the faith. The group you got your information from is an enemy of truth. The Fatima Center is the renegade organization of Fr Gruner who has actually been attacking the good Fr Fox. Fr Robert Fox is the one you should listen to about Fatima, not The Fatima Center run by a renagade priest who is defacto divina (ie: Fr Gruner is the enemy and not to be believed.)

You can find much on the subject in this thread.

Thought-provoking thread. Sorry I missed it. But I’m still as confused as ever. I pray that nothing like this has happened, that Hindus were allowed to worship at the Fatima shrine.

I wish I knew how to post the tract thaty was mailed to me (I don’t know how they got my address). It’s labeled as a Fatima Crusader Special Report and is called “Father Fox’s Modernist Assault on Fatima.” It presents documentation and footnotes and various other sources to back up its claims.

That’s why I brought this issue here. I just don’t know what to think about this. If true, it’s horrifying.

Fr. Robert Fox is an acquaintance of mine. Some years ago he invited me to speak at his annual Fatima conference.

He is an orthodox and obedient priest who knows Sr. Lucia personally. He is low-key in his approach and is in line with the Holy Father.

Not so his attacker, Fr. Nicholas Gruner, who is not under the authority of any bishop, does not have the kind of entree that Fr. Fox has to Sr. Lucia, and has built up his organization through innuendo and scare tactics.

Again, it is not true. Gruner is a rascal at the very least and is NOT a spokesman for Fatima. He speaks for himself. He promotes his version of Fatima and he is outside the pale for following anything he says. He calls Sr. Lucy, confused and says she is mistaken when she refutes his claim about the consecration not being made. He claims the Vatican and Pope made her say it. He attacks JPII, is part of the “IN YOUR FACE” consortium right alongside the SSPX’ers and their ilk and you think a dissenting scallywag like Gruner might be telling the truth?

(RIGHT! ) Sr Lucy stood up to torture threats as a child to tell the truth about Fatima and NOW we are to believe Gruner that she is a liar since she refutes what Gruner says. Now let’s get real here. If Sr Lucy is mistaken and Gruner is right then the whole Fatima apparition is fake beginning to end…And just who is it that would love to destroy Fatima? I think Satan and his minions would love to and Gruner fits the bill as Satan’s dupe at the very least.

Profound thanks for the (name removed by moderator)ut. I think I know now where to file this tract.

God bless you all.

I received the same Fatima Crusader mailing referenced above.

I do have sympathy for Fr Gruner as he has does nothing wrong and is being persecuted by many in the Church.

I personally find Fr Gruner’s research interesting and compelling.
Fr. Fox appears to be very defensive and does not answer the people that critique him. I find that suspicious.

I guess my question is can we dissent from Church statements/interpretations on private Revelation if the Church does not require our belief in them in the first place ?

We are not obliged to believe the apparitions, but we have a duty in charity to correctly represent parties to the belief. If one man is lying about the other, and that can be verified, we ought not accept his view.

Hi Louis IX;

Having read Fr. Fox’s magazine I can understand why he doesn’t answer all those accusations. They have been made by Fr. Gruner and others for YEARS. He would get nothing done but explain. And anyways these people do not want an explanation. They put words into Our Lady’s mouth claiming this is what she said at Fatima. They work with fear …(Our Lady said at Fatima that unless the consecration was done the world would be destroyed by nuclear weapons…)… Our Lady never said this. Just imagine if the Collegial Consecration WAS done what would Fr. Gruner do then. He would be out of business because thats all his magazine does.

I suggest that you view Fr. Fox’s web site at www.fatimafamily.org/russia.html to read the truth about Fr. Gruner and also they have a good article on the “Hindo ceremony” that is being claimed to have taken place at Fatima

Where is the article on the Hindu ceremony? I went to the site, but nothing jumped out.
Thanks,
HW

Sorry hwinston, my mistake :o That wasn’t the “home page” for the site. Go to www.fatimafamily.org/index and you will be on the home page. There is a link “Fr. Luciano Guerra Responds”,click this and get his statement. Unfortunatly he doesn’t mention the hindu ceremony! I didn’t read the whole thing before I posted and thought he did. Again my mistake. I wish he had as those pictures that were posted above don’t look too good :nope:

Hey, I didn’t get that one. Does that mean they have finally taken me off their mailing list? Thank you, Lord, for this favor. Means I don’t have to keep filling up the landfill here in my town.

John

Thanks Melman! 👍 You are right, the link doesn’t work. Thanks for posting the correct web address. 😉

I’ve seen Fr. Fox several times on Archbishop Hannans tv show here in South Louisiana. He is an excellent priest, completely orthodox and in line with the Holy Father.

Hi all;

Fr. Fox’s site does have an article on the supposed Hindu ceremony now. If you go to Fr. Fox’s site www.fatimafamily.org and click on the top word articles you will get to a page. Click on “The Hindus in Fatima” and read the article. It basically says that the Hindu priest prayed a prayer for peace. Only he approached the altar and it was done in line with what the church allows for a non-christian to do in a church. The TV program that ran it explained it but it was in porguese(excuse my spelling). The meeting with the Monsg. and the Hindu took place in another room, not in the church and had nothing to do with the prayers the Hindu said. Many, many people got to Fatima to pray for peace. They are from all nations and religions. Our Lady is mother to all mankind not just Christians and Catholics and I’m sure she is pleased that they come to her. We must be very careful when we read info on the internet. We must look at where the info is coming and in this case it was from someone who denies that the consecration of the world and Russia took place in March 1984 as Our Lady asked. Sister Lucia has said it was done as Our Lady asked yet this person doesn’t believe it and looks for things to discredit Fatima. I understand that he didn’t even ask anyone at the Fatima Shrine for an explaintion first just went public with what he thought it was. Surly these people do the devil’s work for him. Go to Fr. Fox’s web site and read the truth.

Fr. Fox is now retired from being a pastor and offers daily Mass at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament/( Mother Angelica) Hanceville, Alabama. and hear confessions for the nuns. He continues to write books and is the editor of the Immaculate Heart Messenger Magazine and he can be seen on Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).

Through many years of bringing the youth to Fatima, 200 young boys have become priest and many girls have become nuns, he taught them Fatima, the reaffirmation of the gospels.

And as a resource here are some links about Fr. Fox note that some of the links on these page to point to Fathers old website have not been updated yet.
