If you like this, you should hear the Eucharistic Prayers sung in Syriac (I dialect of Aramaic). Come visit a Maronite parish.

…and I’ll provide the lyrics (LOL!):

That’s a beautiful rendition indeed.

he has a few online, i will post some more when I get time over the weekend. You might be able to work out who he is and the group is, from them. I cant 🙂

Fr. Serafim is the leading singer. He’s an Assyrian Orthodox priest.

I absolutely love this song, or chant, or whatever. Almost every week I have listened to this for the last six months or so.

Not sure why it is “Our Father” in Aramaic. I think it is from Psalms 50 or 53, from what I understand. At one point I had found a translation and I will look for it again.

Okay, I found it. It is Psalm 51. Google Eastern Translations: Psalm 51 (Aramaic to English). It plays the video with the words underneath in Aramaic and the translated ones in English.

Oops! So I posted the wrong lyrics? Lol! 😜

Kidding aside, regardless of what the song might be, it is still euphonious. And thank you, @GiftofMercy, for sharing it.

A blessed day to all of you! Shalom.

Thank you.

Thank you for that information. I have linked his chant of Our Father on this thread also.

you say Rome Reports, with our Holy Father attending, wrongly titled the chant?
I just contacted Rome Reports to ask them. I will share what they report 🙂
Thank you anyways for posting this most beautiful chant. PAX

Do you have the answer? Why the difference between what most of us think of as Our Father, and the title of the video by Rome Reports?

Is it because it is thought of as the corresponding verses in the Old Testament?
