Benadam had an interesting thought What if some evidence contradicts your faith? I’d like to avoid a long decision of how this could never happen but what if?

What if in a deep dark vault authentic records are found showing that Christ was married and had children?

What if someday DNA science could prove it?

What if a record is discovered showing that oh say the 3rd pope ever (sorry I’m totally clueless on names) was faked?

I’m not trying to attack the Catholic faith, but I think the discussion of what if would be interesting.

First, I would learn all I could about it. Then, remembering how passionately some very technically-skilled folks would love to fake such a thing, I would evaluate it with the utmost caution and prayer. Finally, I would apply for scholarships and enter the relevant field to do my own original investigation and devote the rest of my life on Earth to finding out exactly how much of it is true and just what it actually means to my faith – what the entire truth is. I would never, ever stop investigating. I would leave my conclusions in God’s hands and live totally at His mercy to my last heartbeat. I would have no choice. That is, if the evidence didn’t turn out as just another hoax. I would give it my whole life to do so, because I know ahead of time such hoaxes are common and that there are deceivers who could produce wonders to deceive the elect, if possible.

It should be a scientific question, should it not? So, the first thing always be why those kind of discovery is authentic, scientifically. Then, let adjust things needed to be adjusted in the Christianity. I found that the way that Jesus shows is a way through salvation whoever Jesus really is. For example, nothing wrong with the status of Jesus w.r.t his order of (a) Love God with all your might, (b) Love others as you love yourself, and you can’t love God without loving other human. Those 2 things are the best foundation to create a better living condition and to be a better person, regardless of whether Jesus is God or not.

This will be more evidence of my “presumption”, but I’m so sure about the complete perfection that already exists in the present Bible, that I would dismiss such absurd garbage for what it is. I would not give it a further thought. It deserves none either.
