I’m just curious. One of the theories is that the third secret was hinting at Vatican II. Surely she had an opinion on the counsel

Sister Lucy was a remarkable cloistered Nun, who it is doubtful had significant thoughts about Vatican II.

It’s a fascinating subject. Cloak and dagger type stuff.
More than that - closer to tin foil hat stuff. There are sites critical of Vatican II which claim that the “real” Sr. Lucy was “switched” and that the late-in-life pictures show someone who doesn’t resemble the younger Lucy – all in service to nefarious forces undermining the Church.

Even if the third secret was about Vatican II sister Lucia could never tell the truth if she was asked by the bishop or Pope to remain silent since she was a professed religious nun she was bound by the obedience vow 😉

Your theory is wrong. The Vatican publicly stated that the third secret was the failed attempt to kill Pope John Paul II.

Couple of things. It isn’t my theory and would you expect the Vatican to say anything differently if the third secret was actually about vatican 2?

BTW, does anyone have a really good article/discussion on the third secret?

The purpose of Fatima was about our Blessed Mother reminding us to pray and make sacrifices, and offer up the penance of our daily duties.

In other words, to allow the Lord to sanctify us so the world will recognize the truth of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Peace,

Dorothy
