"It was Pope St. John Paul who said that the Church was facing her greatest spiritual struggle in her history, and most Catholics are not even aware that there is a struggle going on. There is an evil out there that desires the total destruction of Christian civilization; that’s why the message of Fatima is so important. "

It used to be that I heard about Fatima all the time, and the necessity of praying the rosary daily. Now, not so much, but it may yet be our last hope.

Thanks, JimG. This post reminds me that I need to not just pray the rosary, which I do, but really understand the requests of Our Lady and how to devote myself to this teaching.

In the various Catholic parishes in my area that I have attended weekday Mass in, there is usually a Rosary said either before or after Mass. In my parish it is afterwards.

There are two parishes that I know of who have special prayers and hymns to Our Lady of Fatima on the first Saturday of the month.

On the retreat at a monastery that I attended last August, the retreat master started off his first conference by saying that the Church is in its most fierce spiritual warfare since its beginning. (And there was a lot of persecution back then.)

He promoted True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis Marie de Montfort, and right before this four-day retreat was over, he asked that those who wanted to wear the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and were never given it, to purchase one at the gift shop next to the monastery. They all did! He enrolled them in the monastery church.

A friend of mine has a Scriptural Rosary and other prayers said at her home every month. I have a group of ladies that meet at my home every Monday for a Scriptural Rosary, a hymn, several other prayers, a quiet time, and then the Litany of Our Lady and closing prayer to Our Lady of Fatima.

Hopefully others can ask their pastor if they can start one in their parish. It is best when five people are saying each decade.

Peace in Jesus and Mary,

Dorothy

Yes. We shouldn’t forget this.
