Fatima & the Rosary

THE DAILY ROSARY FOR PEACE:
“Pray the Rosary every day in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary to obtain peace in the world . . . for she alone can save it.” (Our Lady, July 13, 1917)
“God has placed peace in her hands, and it is from the Immaculate Heart that men must ask it.” (Jacinta, shortly before her death)
"When you pray the Rosary, say after each mystery: ‘O Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have most need of your mercy.’ " (June 13, 1917)
(Every Rosary increases Mary’s power to crush the head of the Serpent and to destroy his evil power in the world.)

How many Catholics pray the Rosary daily? If more Catholics took the advice of Our Lady with regards to the Rosary, just imagine the difference this would make in our lives & the world. Is there any excuse for not praying the Rosary daily, which would satisfy the request Our Lady has made to all Catholics? Changing our lives, families, churches, communities, nation & world; starts with each & every on of us first.

The Rosary is a private devotion and while I have nothing against promoting it I believe you are wrong in the way you are going about it.

There are other private devotions that people do. I think everyone should pray Morning and Evening Prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours. Imagine if that happened.

Fatima is a private revelation and belief in it and following it are not required for a faithful Catholic.

I am all for the Liturgy of the Hours, but I do not believe this is practical for many lay Catholics. If a Catholic won’t pray the Rosary daily, what is the chance this same Catholic will pray the Liturgy of the Hours? Is the Liturgy of the Hours required by lay Catholics either? Also, is not the Fatima prayer inserted after each decade already within the Rosary? I understand we are not required to believe or follow private revelation, especially, if it has not been approved by the Church. But Fatima has been approved by the Church & I am not forcing it on anyone. I am just relating something which has happened at Fatima. It is up to the individual Catholic to believe it or not. I am not condemning anyone for not believing in Fatima. Again, it is up to us.

The Rosary is a simple prayer, while at the same time bringing us closer to Christ. I can’t see anything wrong promoting the Rosary, while at the same time relating Fatima, which has been approved by the Church. There will be no peace in the world until there is peace in our hearts, which can come only from Christ. And Mary leads us all to her Son, Jesus Christ. As Father Corapi has stated, and I am paraphrasing, if anyone starts praying the Rosary, they will grow in the Catholic faith, become Catholic if not already, or they will stop praying the Rosary.

How many Catholics pray the Rosary daily?

I for one.
I know we’re not required to believe private revelations, but I’m not taking any chances.

Two totally different styles of prayer, a Catholic who does not prefer the Rosary (like myself) may find that they like the LOTHs better.

No private devotions are required by any lay Catholic unless they are a member of a lay institute (secular lay third order).

If one choses to pray that prayer. It is not required to pray the Fatima prayer when one prays the Rosary just as one is not required to pray the Luminious Mysteries.

I understand we are not required to believe or follow private revelation, especially, if it has not been approved by the Church.

If it has not been approved by the Church then we are not to believe in it.

But Fatima has been approved by the Church & I am not forcing it on anyone. I am just relating something which has happened at Fatima. It is up to the individual Catholic to believe it or not. I am not condemning anyone for not believing in Fatima. Again, it is up to us.

I apologize then, as your first post seemed to indicate otherwise.

I, for one, am very happy to see Our Lady’s message getting the much needed attention it deserves. In recent years Fatima has become quite the hot topic of debate within the Church. It is good to see that there are still Catholics talking about Our Lady of Fatima and defending her wishes.

While there are plenty opportunities for debate about the subject, I believe that we should heed the Blessed Mother’s wishes and pray the rosary daily. After all, the only thing we can do is benefit from this powerful weapon of peace.

I do not think it matters whether or not I believe in Fatima, I was stating the actual Church Teachings on private messages.

From the Catechism of the Catholic Church;

**67 **Throughout the ages, there have been so-called “private” revelations, some of which have been recognized by the authority of the Church. They do not belong, however, to the deposit of faith. It is not their role to improve or complete Christ’s definitive Revelation, but to help live more fully by it in a certain period of history. Guided by the Magisterium of the Church, the sensus fidelium knows how to discern and welcome in these revelations whatever constitutes an authentic call of Christ or his saints to the Church.

Christian faith cannot accept “revelations” that claim to surpass or correct the Revelation of which Christ is the fulfillment, as is the case in certain non-Christian religions and also in certain recent sects which base themselves on such “revelations”.
As you can plainly see, private messages are not part of the deposit of faith nor do they do anything to improve the Revelation we have from Christ.

For me they are not necessary but I do believe in some, some I am not sure about, I really do not study them except for St Faustina and the Divine Mercy.

I thought it was Christ who saves the world, and Mary is the one who always points to her Son?

I try to pray the Rosary everyday. I’ve recently started doing this and my faith has grown stonger, because the Rosary truly is all about Jesus.

I have a grown into a great devotion of the Rosary, and our Lady under the title of Our Lady of Fatima for a reason that goes back 2 decades + where she protected me in a time of anxiety.

I have also been the recipient of signal graces for which I am profoundly grateful considering the skepticism I can easily possess.

Im grateful for her patience and understanding.

3: Five first saturdays ( that’s today)
4: Daily Offering of Reparation
I personally try to follow these requests and spread the Message of Fatima.
The Divine Office, while not a Fatima request, compliments the above.
Try starting on a spiritual journey, thru Mary to Jesus, and you may find that Fatima can change your life. The Message of Fatima is as relevent today as it was in 1917.

I couldn’t agree more, that Fatima is just as relevant today as it was in 1917. I also believe that we haven’t heard the end of the recent debates…
