Are you sure?

Paul said, “Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church.” (Colossians 1:24)

I’m just curious…what is lacking in Christ’s afflictions?

What is Paul going to fill up in his flesh?
There is nothing lacking in my Savior’s sacrifice.
And ESPECIALLY nothing that Mary can supply!

Umm, but it DOES tell us to test ***all ***spirits - including all apparitions. To what purpose, if those that are of Mary aren’t in any circumstances going to be authentic, or if the only authentic ones are to be those that are directly of Christ himself??

Christ and Paul who was speaking on his behalf could have saved us an awful lot of trouble if they’d just said ‘look guys, you don’t need to bother having anything to do with any apparition of anyone who isn’t Christ!’
He tells us there will be false Christs, false teachers, false prophets, and test all things. 1thess5:21

't ain’t what you think it is. Jesus DID say “It is finished!” did He not? Yes, I’m sure. It is most appalling that people who call themselves Christians could disrespect the Word of God and spit in Christ’s face by saying His work on the cross was not enough. I’m seriously disappointed Randy.

So using the scriptural reference for discernment, we prove that these apparitions of Mary cannot be from Satan. They must therefore be of God.

Except Scripture never tells us that there will be visions of Mary.

Scripture never tells us to submit to any “visions of Mary”.

Scripture does tell us that the devil appears as an angel of light…
and I respond…
The Catholic Church also does not tell us there WILL BE visions of Mary. It does however investigate claims… and deems them as false, unsure, or perhaps worthy
of belief.
Scripture… the Book of the Catholic Church… does not tell us to submit… who says it does.?
And if you are even slightly insinuating that Mary = angel of light = devil…
don’t stand close to me.
Jesus honored His mother, and “…was subject to…” her. If she is good enough for Him, she is good enough for me.
Mary the blessed virgin is not of the devil.
She has died and is probably in heaven.
The APPARITIONS are from the devil.
That is what this is all about.
The apparitions are not Mary.
That is the point.

What basis does the CC investigate these claims? By Scripture?

You’re telling us we have to submit to visions of Mary.
And if you are even slightly insinuating that Mary = angel of light = devil…

Well, with your (lack) of reading comprehension skills on this point, it makes me wonder what else you fail to comprehend? Scripture? I nowhere said such a thing and nowhere did I insinuate such a thing. Please be an intelligent grown up and realize that “visions” of Mary are not Mary herself and yes indeed, can be from the devil.

Don’t burn me at the stake.

Ahh yes, but you’re too busy submitting to Mary and the Pope to give any room to Jesus. I honour His mother too. However, she is in the proper place. One woman, under God. Jesus is the Saviour my Father in heaven gave to us. If Jesus is good enough for Him, He’s good enough for me.

How lost are these people?
Is there any hope?
Keep up the good work of sharing the Gospel brother.
God Bless you.

hoosierdaddy:
We’re not at all telling you you have to submit to visions of Mary, not even catholics have to do that. We’re simply asking you not to jump to the automatic conclusion that they’re Satanic!

There IS a middle ground you know. Possibly those who believe in Fatima are mistaken. Just like you’re possibly mistaken in some of your beliefs. Doesn’t automatically mean they or you are satanic!

Ok wasn’t going to bother with this thread but changed my mind.

So explain the verse of Saint Paul.

Well Mary supplied** your **Saviour, please gave her some credit.

No, because this thread was discuss already for almost 800 plus threads.

There is no end to this debate, and you just won’t listen to our answers.
God will choose the time to open their ears. They need to choose the time and open their (our) Bible…

…and start re-reading the verses they like to quote along with the context of those verses… something not encouraged in most non-Catholic faith communities.

That is why the Catholic Church will NOT compromise on the Truth… weather it be contraception, baptism, divorce, or veneration to the Mother of God.

I find these fundies very hardheaded and won’t listen. They are like the disciples of Jesus who left in John 6:6:6

so what does Col 1:24 mean to you
Paul is suffering for what is lacking in him, not even to suggest that there is anything lacking in Christs sacrifice.
If your dogma or pope or tradition is suggesting that there is ANY lack in the sacrifice on the cross then: Get thee behind me Satan!!!

God always gives us something (or someone) to pray for…

Next hour of Adoration will include some special time for MFM and the Newbie…

Afterall, they are really only in God’s hands…Thank God.

And how do you know that? Where in the Bible does it say: all apparitions that look like Mary and that tell you to pray like this: “O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy” are from the Devil? Where?

Oh, right. In the same place that it says “sola Scriptura.” Silly me.
