do you know ANYTHING about the Rock… the one at Caesare Phillipi… the one with the well spring of water… the one with the temple to Pan… the backdrop chosen by the Lord to be replaced with a lowly fisherman named Simon, who would be renamed and directed on a special mission…

oh well… forget it… you can’t understand these things “because they are not in your copy of the Catholic Bible”
Of course I know the rock. Jesus Christ. Peter was a “stone”. The “rock” was the revelation that was given to Peter, that Jesus was the Christ the Son of the Living God. On THAT rock, Jesus builds His Church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it. But what do you know? You have seven extra books, “Tradtion (read superstitions)” and a Pope to tell you what you better believe if you know what’s good for ya. yawn

If you want a sarcasm battle, bring it on. If not, I’d suggest you stop.

As for John 6:6:6 being John 6:66…that’s not the same Manny. Get it right next time.

Besides those whom left, I am sure he let them leave because he already knew they did not ever believe, us fundies we are true born again believers!
The first 72 disciples left Jesus in John 6:66 because they find the belief that they have to eat the flesh of the son of Man and drink his blood is difficult to understand.

In this thread, we Catholics give you Biblical defense of the Catholic interpretation of our doctrine. You read what we wrote and disbelieve.

You say it is taken out of context, and that you don’t accept the Catholic interpretation of these beliefs we Catholic held for over 2,000 yrs.

Just as those disciples who left Jesus because they did not understand, likewise Protestants refuse to listen to our beliefs.

What does “it is finished” mean to you? I’m surprised to see a Catholic asking me what “something means to me”. 😃
The Passover Supper is finished. What do you think it means? That his dying for us is all we need to get to heaven?

No, we must participate in His Sacrifice. We must pick up our crosses and follow Him. That is what’s lacking in His Afflictions, our participation.

First off co-redemptrix does not equal co-redeemer. See my first post concerning this.

And, no, that would not be true. Jesus’ human nature came from Mary. Joseph was a caretaker, but he didn’t play a direct part.
Yes it does! Do you think I’m stupid?

Jesus’ human nature came from Mary eh? LOL do you want to know something? I said the same thing and a Catholic called me a “nestorian”; a “heretic”. LOL welcome to the heretic club.

BTW, what are you talking about? I said that the sin nature was passed down through the man’s genes and therefore, Jesus had to be born of a virgin birth. And yet, you disput me on it?

Oh, I have no problem listening to your beliefs. I will not be bullied or “threatened” with hell into accepting them though.

How can you compare our rejection of unbiblical teachings with disciples leaving Jesus? That is one HECK of a stretch there and to put it bluntly, you have no grounds for it.

I do detect some anger in your posts… understandable.

I will pray for your anger to be changed to an open acceptance of the Lord in all that He says to us in Scripture…
and an open acceptance of the Church He gave us to protect and explain the Truth… to each at his own level of competance.

I find these fundies very hardheaded and won’t listen. They are like the disciples of Jesus who left in John 6:6:6
Who cares Manny if they don’t listen, we’ll just keep knocking down their paper castles.

So saying 1000 “hail joseph pray for me” would do me no good?

Hey my friend. Everything is finished. The curse against us. The veil between God and man. God’s justice has been satisfied. On the cross, Jesus cried out “it is finished!”.

Jesus’ dying for us IS all we need to get to heaven, coupled with His living for us. He fulfilled the Law on our behalf. To pick up our cross and follow Him is required in order to be a disciple. Discipleship and salvation are two different things. We know this because even without works, one is still saved. Scripture says so.

now either you are typing too fast, not thinking, or are ignorant of Christ… or any combination thereof…

do you wish to retract your rejection of the truth that Jesus had a human and a divine nature (2 natures…1 Person.)

do you wish to retract your rejection of the truth that His human nature came from his human mother??

Yes, I am angry. Thank you for your prayers though. But I do believe an acceptance of Christ is an acceptance of His Church. IMO the RCC is just another denomination.

show me…

The original Bible… Catholic… says that faith without works is dead.

Wrath is a reminder of hidden hatred, that is to say, remembrance of wrongs. Wrath is a desire for the injury of the one who has provoked you. Irascibility is the untimely blazing up of the heart. Bitterness is a movement of displeasure seated in the soul. Anger is an easily changeable movement of one’s disposition and disfiguration of soul.
St. John Climacus

I am going to give you the Gospel truth:
Accept Jesus as Lord and Savior repent of your sins and you will enter the kingdom of Heaven period. That is the Good News of the Gospel. Accept it and you will be a born again believer. Then get yourself baptised and I’ll see you in heaven.

This is unbelievable. WHAT are you TALKING about???

I type fast, I am thinking very sharply, and I am far from ignorant of Christ.

Where did I say that I reject that Jesus had a human and a divine nature? In fact, I’ve said the opposite! I really wish you’d quit making these ridiculous unfounded accusations against me. I think it’s time I DO put you on ignore.

Of course His human nature came from His mother!

and you are welcome to your opinion.

many in your position will link to wikpedia… but perhaps not to the link that might disagree with you. Even the secular books like an encyclopedia proclaim the Catholic Church as the one founded by Christ… go figure.

That prayer in itself is not disrespectful, but your hanging the complete legitimacy of the fatima sighting on this one shared prayer. That is it. And it wasn’t even from the fatima Mary

Check the whole book of Romans. If you lack the ability to I will copy and paste from Biblegateway for you. Ask the Pope if he’ll let you look it up first though. We don’t want you going to hell now…

Paul is suffering for what is lacking in him, not even to suggest that there is anything lacking in Christs sacrifice.
If your dogma or pope or tradition is suggesting that there is ANY lack in the sacrifice on the cross then: Get thee behind me Satan!!!
Douay Rheims explanation.

Col 1:24 Who now rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up those things that are wanting of the sufferings of Christ, in my flesh, for his body, which is the church:

24 *“Wanting”… There is no want in the sufferings of Christ in himself as head: but many sufferings are still wanting, or are still to come, in his body the church, and his members the faithful. *

what happens when you say that to a mentally impared person… or to one deaf and blind… get yourself baptised…

how cras to take a Sacrament of God’s Grace and tell one to get yourself baptised.

Jesus really knew what He was doing when he gave us 5 sacrament linked to His priesthood… at least you can’t abuse them.
