Fatwa's, by whose authority?

Spaking about OBL is politics. Like I said I wont discuss it, because it gets us no where and this is not what the thread is about. I will answer questions about Fatwas in general and I will not address any specific fatwa.

OK. I understand. It would be a personal decision based on that persons interpertation of right or wrong of the actions of the other party.

They need to be prepared for the consequences of their actions then. And they better be 100% certain they are right and willing to die for their treason.

Because right or wrong, according to every military worldwide, it would be treason.

I appreciate your point of view, but I thought I was asking about a fatwa. Yes, it also invloved OBL. I’m trying to get info, not argue. I’m not being coy.
But speaking of coy, that part of "However please show me a fatwa that supports Osamas cause and I will tell you how I feel about it" I thought you were possibly being coy, that you knew the answer (none) but were asking a rhetorical/sarcastic question. That’s why I asked you to clarify. I come here humbly and sincerely, and asked a honest question. Please be honest and direct if you choose to answer. Thanks, Jim

Yes I meant a fatwa by a Mufti that supports OBL and not those of OBL himself because he is not a mufti. However I changed my mind and I choose not to talk about any specific fatwa for a number of reasons:
  1. I am not a Mufti myself. It is like a average person arguing with a doctor about which prescription he should take.
  2. Speaking about OBL is not safe and I could get in trouble for speaking about him. Anyone can easily take my words out of context or misunderstand them and use them against me.
If you wish to discuss fatwas in general I will be more than happy to. Otherwise I choose not to discuss specific fatwas about specific issues. I hope you understand.

I have asked this a couple of times without answer. I would appreciate any direction so I may further understand how the Muslim religion is guided.

1- Who is authorized to issue Fatwa’s?

2- What/Who gives them that authority?

Answers to these two questions will probably spark others.

OK. These were my original questions. If I understand correctly I have the answers on Fataawa (pl).

1- Fataawaa may only be issued by learned scholars (Mufti).
2- They must be from established and respected institutions.
3- They must have graduated and been given Ijaazah (permission to issue Fataawa).
4- They absolutely MUST have support from the Qur’an AND Hadith (I stress BOTH) Correct?
5- Finally, they are then read by all Muslim’s who then decide in their own hearts to follow or not based on their own personal interpretation of the Fatwa.

That about sum it up?

I see you have also visited Emad’s home forum. As you can see it is filled with an inner hatred of America by American’s claiming to be Muslim. I would suggest all follow this link who are in discussion with Emad, SwOrdD and Marwan. Don’t learn your Islam from these people!

At the risk of being suspended I will post a link to a cartoon from their site. The cartoon is disturbing enough. The fact it was not removed since it was posted on June 25th is more so.

First of all** I DID NOT PARTICIPATE IN THOSE THREADS!!** How do you know I agree with what is posted?? Like I said I am an administrator and I WAS THE ONE who asked the administration to review these pics and delete them if possible. If you choose to no longer exchange dialogue with me that is fine. All of those pics are posted by ONE member who recently joined the site. I also encourage others to visit the site and find the truth for themselves.
