Who is your favorite EARLY Old Testament Saint
(i.e., from Adam to David)?
Why?

I had a hard time narrowing it down to these 7, and left out Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, Joshua, Deborah, Hanna, Samuel, Ruth, etc.
So, if you would have chosen “Other” had it been an option, whom would you have chosen, and why?

You also left out Elijah, who along with Moses appeared on the mount of Transfiguration and so represented the whole of the Prophets. And, Elisha who received a “double portion” from Elijah and founded an order of prophets that helped keep Israel true to God, thus preserving faith in the one true God, which is important because the Messiah was to come through them. 😉

As Lay Carmelite, I’d never leave out our Holy Father and Founder, Elijah! The Poll for “Late” OT Saints (Solomon to Machabees) is in the works right now. He’s got my vote…

Gotta vote for Job. There’s a guy that could take a punch… and everything else. 😃

God bless,

Agricola

I had to go with David, although it was a tough pick. I settled on him because he wasn’t a whiner like Moses, or passive like Job and Joseph, but a quasi-Homeric hero with tragic flaws, who was unjustly persecuted.
