Andy Williams “Christmas Present” (all hymns/religious songs)

Mannheim Steamroller’s “Fresh Aire Christmas”

The Partridge Family Christmas Album is by far the best ever! Don’t laugh, listen to it, it is the best, even my husband and my kids think so!

Kenny “G” has a beautiful instrumental which is perfect to have as background music during Christmas dinner.

Two of my favorites are “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and Ray Charles’s “The Spirit of Christmas”.

Although NOT a celine dion fan, I do Iike her Christmas cd… features Andrea Boccelli (The Prayer) and the version of Ave Maria is top notch in my mind

VINYL: Merry Christmas, Andy Williams & Ray Conniff’s *Here We Come A-Caroling *&Mitch Miller Christmas Sing Along

CD: Mannheim Steamroller: A Fresh Aire Christmas (1988)
The Ray Conniff is my all time favorite. We played it over and over when I was growig up. The first year that I had to be away for Christmas, my brothers recorded it on a cassette with their own voices interjecting “Merry Christmas”, “we will miss you” etc. Priceless!

I think it has been re-cut as a CD now.

Where can I find the Mitch Miller Christmas album? I used to LOVE listening to that as a kid! That and Gene Autry’s “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”, the one that has commentary all through it, linking the songs together (and he does beautiful renditions of “Silent Night” and “Joy to the World”.

Mannheim Steamroller–“Fresh Aire Christmas” (also known as “The blue one”) is their best Christmas album!

My other favorites are by John Berry “O Holy Night”, Collin Raye “The Gift” and Bing Crosby, especially if it has “Christmas in Killarney”.

If you like cowboy poetry, I recommend Michael Martin Murphy’s “Cowboy Christmas” (the one that has “Two-Step 'Round the Christmas Tree”). Good cowboy poetry and toe-tapping songs… who knew you could two-step to “Deck the Halls”???

“Christmas Eve & Other Stories” - Trans-Siberian Orchestra

They also have a dvd that goes along with this album, which is awesome, called:
“The Ghosts of Christmas Eve”

I highly recommend these!

Kenny Rogers “The Gift”. This is an must have for the Christmas time. It is Beautiful. Has actualy brought a tear to my eye at times. You can pick it up preaty cheep at amazon.com.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer soundtrack by Burl Ives. Got it at Target last weekend for $6.99. Classic 👍
As a kid who grew up in the 60’s I love it too!👍 I have no little children anymore but I watch Rudolph every year;) and I have the CD for the car.

I can’t believe it. Nobody has yet mentioned the ULTIMATE Christmas album:

“Christmas Sing with Frank and Bing”!!! 👍

Perfect CD to accompany a little toddy for the body. Then go watch “Going My Way” and “Bells of St. Mary’s.”

Here are mine:

The first is by Voci Nobili from Norway with Willy Postma on the harp. Link to CD Scroll down to the last disc on the page. The piece “My Dancing Day” is my favorite on that album.

The second is “The Joy of Christmas”. It has the most spectacular version of the carol, “Once in Royal David’s City”. It just gives me the chills!

There have been several excellent Christmas albums done by artists in the Country music field.
However, Stan Freburg’s “Green Chri$tma$” (Deck the Halls with Advertising, fa la la la la) has a strong message.

I love all of Amy Grant’s albums, but I have to say The Osmond Family Christmas album always brings a smile to my face when I listen to it. Maybe it reminds me of their Christmas specials which were full of family, music and love.
