I thought Chobits was still a little better than Tsubasa and XxxHolic, but I felt the art was going down hill in those years.
I don’t know. I kinda like it (though I feel kinda guilty for admitting this). Perhaps it was due to its more… realistic anatomy. 7.7;;

Then again, I’m probably the only Catholic anime enthusiast here who takes pride in his love for moe art styles. 😛

Still as far as story is concerned, I actually loved how Chobits was more guy-oriented. I thought Card Captor Sakura was pretty sweet and all but… stuff like that actually alienates me (not to mention burns my inner cynic and gags my sense of sarcasm).

I will say this here and now though. If I ever ran into a real beauty with a personality like Chi’s, I would definitely fall in love with her. >w<

An innocent, clueless, but also very sweet little girl inside the body of a beautiful young woman… that for me, is the perfect mate. TwT

P.S.

Okay chances are one might say, what about Miyuki-chan in Wonderland? Frankly, I found that one waaaaay too stupid, even for my manly tastes.

I have no desire to delve through old posts and try to find an example…
I’ve just noticed, from what I can tell, that you seem somewhat closed minded when it comes to just how much God can touch.

If the morals of one character in a show are off, but not explicitly evil, you act as if it’s a negative message and something to be avoided.

From my few encounters with you, you just strike me as someone who looks too hard for the evil in everything, not paying enough attention to the good that is also there. 😦
Kindly provide examples, or please stop accusing me.

I’m a huge anime fan with a good collection and have seen too many things to name.

Just off the top of my head, my absolute favourite series/films/OVAs/Manga are:

Macross Plus
Escaflowne
Princess Mononoke
Cowboy Bebop
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Death Note
Akira
Memories
Animatrix
Millenium Actress
Serial Experiments Lain
X
Hellsing
Love Hina
Pretty Face
Blame!
Last Exile
Haibane Renmei
Outlaw Star
Mushishi
Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad
Technolyze
Ergo Proxy
Black Lagoon
Ghost in the Shell
Tokyo Godfathers
Paranoia Agent
FLCL
Metropolis
Spirited Away
The place promised in our Early Days

And so… many… others…

Rather than talk about old stuff, I’m looking forward to and enjoying new/current things…

Summer Wars
Redline
Arrietty the Borrower
Arakawa under the bridge
Ironman
Bleach
Biomega
Negima
Yotsuba&
etc.

And admittedly, I even like something the likes of ‘Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt’, the show is very outrageously funny in how it exaggerates American pop culture. It’s not a show for everyone unless you’re the sort who also watches stuff like Family Guy or South Park and enjoys that kind of humor. Due to the subject matter in its humor, this show should only be watched by adults.

Never heard of it, I’ll have to check out that one, as I’m a fan of South Park. 😛

Realistic anatomy compared to… ?
Although, to be fair, the anatomy’s better in Chobits than it is later in Tsubasa, with the noodle limbs… And better than early, early, CLAMP, with the shoooouuulders.

Personally, I think CLAMP’s best art, anatomy-wise and detail-wise, was late era X, before they put it on hiatus.

CLAMP really jumps around with their demographics…
Make Angelic Layer! A story about little girls fighting with dolls.
It’s a shonen.

Make X! A dark story about the apocalypse.
It’s shojo.

Although, at least Chobits it’s pretty clear in being a seinen series.

I haven’t read Miyuki-Chan yet, so I can’t say much about it… xD

You’d be right about Tsubasa’s style in comparison. I guess other than Chobits, the only works I’m familiar with are their mainstream titles such as CCS, Angelic Layer, Tsubasa, Magic Knight Rayearth, Miyuki-chan in Wonderland (unfortunately -.-), and xxxHolic. Granted my own CLAMP experience, Chobits has better er… proportions with regards to anatomy.
I believe I’ve heard of X but it’s the fact that it’s on hiatus that turned me off from actually looking it up. Sadly, I’m just not fond of reading stories only to find out that the ending has been put on hold. >_<;;

True that but as far as I’ve seen in Chobits and Angelic Layer, I still detected strong traces of shoujo (though it’s much stronger in the latter than the former).

Don’t. I beg you. It’s both a great occasion of sin and IQ damage. T_T

Yeah, given your CLAMP experience… The art in Chobits ranks pretty high up there indeed.

Ehhh… The X hiatus is probably CLAMP’s greatest crime against humanity, especially since they cut the series off at one of the biggest cliff hangers ever.

Buuuuut both the X movie and anime have endings, two different endings, so you can fill it in as you like. (Although the X movie is terrible… D: )

But yeah… CLAMP’s put X, Legal Drug, and Clover on infinite hiatus. They seem to have issues finishing what they start. Hiatus is their magic word for “We’re never gonna touch that again. Instead, we’re going to poor our ink into nonsense about alternate dimensions, and destroy are our old characters in said alternate dimensions.”

Bleh.

X has a pretty amazing cast of characters. Like…Over 20 of them. And while the art kinda sucks at the beginning, it gets better. By a long shot, since the later volumes were make at the height of CLAMP’s art style.
(AKA, the early 2000’s.)

X is my favorite along with Tokyo Babylon. <3

Anime

Ergo Proxy
Both Full Metal Alchemist series
Evangelion
The Evangelion Rebuild movies
Hellsing both the first anime (Had great music and sometimes better character design than the new OVAs) and the OVAs, but I don’t like some aspects of the portrayal of Catholics. One good bit I remember is the inclusion of the Crusaders, they are almost my favorite characters of the show, becuase they are based in real life Orders and they wear Nazareno’s Capirotes.
Cowboy Bebop
FLCL
Initial D
Last Exile
Wolf’s Rain
The Big O
Death Note

Manga

Full Metal Alchemist
20th Century Boys
Evangelion
Hellsing
Death Note
The Breaker (Is a manhwa)
Vagabond

Well I’m reading/watching other titles but aren’t favorites yet.

Blessings !

EDTI: Post number 100 !

I recently found out that the person who made Hellsing also makes pornographic mangas. I would recommend boycotting his works.
