Who are your favorite bands?

Mine would have to be:

U2, Dave Matthews and John Mayer.

The Supremes, Boston, Harry Chapin unfortunately now deceased, Cat Stevens who unfortunately joined a cult of some sort, Seals and Croft,Three Dog night and many of the oldies. I don’t care to much for the noise of the newer bands.

U2, Bon Jovi, The Wallflowers, Green Day, The Beatles, Goo Goo Dolls, O-Zone, Fall Out Boy, Seven Sorrows, Enya, Dave Matthews, Matchbox twenty, REM, Savage Garden, Three Doors down, The Eagles, ect.

You get the idea, I don’t have a loyalty to one sound.

Yours in Christ,
Thursday

Cat Stevens became a Muslim, actually.

My taste runs the gambit from Classical to old school punk, with the exception of pop, rap and hip hop.

Favourite artists include Robert Johnson and John Lee Hooker, JS Bach and Mozart (composers, anyways), Alan Jackson and Johnny Cash, U2 (Rattle and Hum and earlier; haven’t liked anything from Achtung Baby on) and REM, Ramones and the Clash, Iron Maiden and Metallica (again, the earlier stuff).

Yes, I like some decidedly un-Catholic music, but Catholics don’t seem to make good metal. 🙂

Yeah, everyone on his list. Especially Green Day 👍

Jimmy Buffett is my absolute favorite. Beyond that, I’m not too picky, Dave Matthews, Big Smith, John Micheal Talbot, U2, and many others also make my list.

Maroon 5, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Depeche Mode, Ministry, Front 242, Nine Inch Nails, The Cranberries, Evanescense, Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, New Order, The Cure, Art of Noise, The Clash, ad infinitum…

Willy Nelson, Hank Williams, Miss Dolly, Rebba, Earnest Tubb, Johnny Cash…well You get the idea 👍

Iron & Wine, all time favorite musician.

Deathcab for Cutie, Pedro the Lion and others

I usually throw in some Byzantine Chant every day to get a healthy dose of uplifting Christian music also.

Franz Ferdinand, Journey, The Killers, Muse, U2, Enya, Emiliana Torrini, Harry Connick Jr, The Chieftains, Lunasa, Josh Groban…

…but above all them…my favorite band EVER…(drumroll)

THE CORRS!!!

It’s somewhat saddening that Catholic music tastes are indestinguishable from the rest of the secular world. Pop-culture pulls no punches, Catholic or non-Catholic alike. The fact that the contemporary Catholic music scene is practically non-existent is obviously of no help.

My favorite bands right now are:

Relient K (By Far)
Dead Poetic
Emery
Jeremy Camp
Subseven (R.I.P.)
Lifehouse
Switchfoot
Josh Groban

BON JOVI, Green Day, 3 Doors Down, Van Halen, AC/DC, Goo Goo Dolls, Shakira, Fall Out Boy, Nickelback, Default, Yellowcard, Weezer, Enya, Jimmy Eat World, Journey, Lifehouse, Dashboard Confessional, My Chemical Romance, Phil Collins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Scott Stapp, Creed, Alter Bridge, Simple Plan, Switchfoot, Train, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Celine Dion…

3 Doors Down, Anberlin, Audio Adrenaline, Falling Up, Hawk Nelson, Jimmy Eat World, Lifehouse, Linkin Park, MxPx, Number One Gun, O.C. Supertones, Olivia The Band, Relient K, Sanctus Real, Seven Sorrows, Skillet, Stellar Kart, Switchfoot, The Afters, Thousand Foot Krutch… the list goes on and on…
