Hi Everyone I’m looking for everyones favorite devotion. If it’s one that many people don’t know about, Can you please post were it came from and if you know where I can find info about it that would be awesome.

My husband is doing a very large project, So I thought I’d ask you all. Who better to ask right

I am not quite sure what you mean, :confused: 🤷 but my family’s favorite prayers are:

The St. Benedict Prayer
The Memorare
The St. Michael Prayer
The Guardian Angel Prayer
The St. Joseph Prayer
The Novena to St. Teresa
The St. Anthony Prayer
The Novena to St. Jude
The Rosary
The Divine Mercy Chaplet

I regularly recite this prayer after receiving Holy Communion

the Anima Christi.

Soul of Christ, sanctify me
Body of Christ, save me
Blood of Christ, inebriate me
Water from Christ’s side, wash me
Passion of Christ, strengthen me
O good Jesus, hear me
Within Thy wounds hide me
Suffer me not to be separated from Thee
From the malicious enemy defend me
In the hour of my death call me
And bid me come unto Thee
That I may praise Thee with Thy saints
and with Thy angels
Forever and ever

Amen

Plus with Lent around the corner…the Stations of the Cross
 
The Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus is beautiful.

January is devoted to the Holy Name of Jesus and I’ve found some wonderful prayers with just a quick search around the internet.
 
Rosary every night on my iPod. Good way to sleep well and put the stresses of the day behind me.
 
Prayers and Heavenly Promises is a good book by Joan Carroll Cruz that has many devotions. A bit of history and promises attatched to them.

I think you have the book.🙂

One of my favorites is The Rosary of the Holy Wounds. It was given to St. Mary Martha Chambon by our Lord.

The Way Of The Cross
 
For those wishing a deeper contemplation of the Passion, I can recommend the Prayers of Saint Bridget. They can also serve as a Way of the Cross

The Fifteen Prayers of Saint Bridget

And there is this site which has devotions in drop-down menus that you can pray before the Blessed Sacrament live on-line. If you can’t get to Adoration, this is the next best thing.

My favourite Catholic devotion is The St Joseph’s Cloak Novena. I also like Angel prayer,
Rosary,
and my favouriest of all The Holy Mass and adoration of Blessed Sacrament.

Perhaps you can help me with a question - I’ve found an online site with the St Joseph’s Cloak novena here, but I’m confused as to whether you say all of the prayers every day - it seems extremely long 🤷

Personal devotions:
  • Daily Rosary in Latin
    -Sacramentals, never leave home without them.
    -I never waste an opportunity to pray any place anywhere when someone reqests it.
    -I use the sign of the cross anywhere in public restaurants, fast food and before any meal, anywhere.
  • I use the St. Benedict Medal visibly so that it sometimes becomes a conversation piece and an opportunity to preach my catholicism.
  • I bow my head whenever I say the name of Jesus, anywhere, anytime regardless of who is present or not.
    -I say it like it is. Example: The Rosary - I pray it alone in the hospital chapel but, I don’t hide the Rosary when someone comes in. If the person is curious and asks questions about the Rosary, I say it like it is. It was revealed to St. Dominic by the Virgin Mary in an apparition etc etc etc. I hold nothing back.
    And so many other little things.
    Family wise:
    -The family Rosary every week.
  • Use of Holy water at the entrance to the house.
    -Sacramentals on the entrance doors and window sills.
    -Prayer before any meal or snack
    And so many other little things.
I have increased my Latin prayer repertoire from 2 or 3 prayers to 12 or 13 different prayers. Weekly (whenever possible) Confession.
And so many other little things.

Pax Domini sit semper vobiscum.
 
Rosary every day and the Stations Of The Cross 4-5 times a week. Might sound a little strange, but I actually say them online while meditating on photos of all 14 stations which are on the website of St Hedwig in Detroit. Sometimes I do the St Alphonsus Liguori version, other times the St Francis of Assisi one. Along with that I randomly pick various prayers, litanies and novenas.

My favorite devotions are the Brown Scapular, Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary.
