“Someday at Christmas” by Stevie Wonder

Anything by Vince Guaraldi from the Peanuts special (especially the Little Drummer Boy version without lyrics)

Night of Silence/Silent Night

Sung intertwined by the whole school at the end of vespers. Simply beautiful and I always choke up.

👍 It still gets me every now and then.
Oh I agree. I don’t know if you have seen the cartoon that comes out in abc family. Were Aaron sheep gets run over and dies. He takes it to baby Jesus, well he actually takes it to the wise men, and they say, we are kings but he’s the king of king. When Aaron gets his drum and starts playing, man that’s a moment of tears rolling down my eyes lol.

“What Child is This”

Particularly, the second verse, which is usually omitted from the secularized versions one often hears.
  1. What Child is this who, laid to rest
    On Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom Angels greet with anthems sweet,
    While shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and Angels sing;
Haste, haste, to bring Him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.
  1. **Why lies He in such mean estate,
Where ox and *** are feeding?
Good Christians, fear, for sinners here
    The silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear shall pierce Him through,
The cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail the Word made flesh,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.**
  1. So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh,
    Come peasant, king to own Him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
    Let loving hearts enthrone Him.
Raise, raise a song on high,
The virgin sings her lullaby.
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary.

Nails, spear shall pierce Him through, The cross be borne for me, for you.
Christmas is nothing without this.

I have not! My wife probably knows it, lol. I’ll ask her. Thanks!

Hosanna by Tim Sheppard. Not really a Christmas song, but it should.

No question: “Fairytale of New York” by The Pogues & Kirsty MacColl 👍

“Fairytale of New York” has been cited as the best Christmas song of all time in various television, radio and magazine related polls in the UK and Ireland… In the UK it is the most-played Christmas song of the 21st Century.

Isn’t it "Of the Father’s LOVE Begotten?

Anyway, my favorite is “I Wonder As I Wander” by John Jacob Niles. He heard a small child singing it in Appalachia and wrote it down, and it became famous all over the world. The version sung by Diahann Carroll and also by Barbra Streisand are both lovely.
There are two sets of lyrics that go to the same tune. So yes and no. I like both. 👍

see above, just for the sake of clarity
Not sure what you meant but maybe I should have put Tawny’s name in my post. I was agreeing with her about the song title “Of the Father’s Love Begotten.”

🙂
