Hi, my name’s Michael. My favorite devotions are to Saint Michael the Archangel, the Blessed Mother, I love and pray the Rosary; and I’m discerning how to add the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts into my spiritual life. I’d like to know what y’all have as favorite devotions.

If you want to begin fostering a devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, begin with the Divine Mercy Chaplet. Pray that everyday (in between 3 and 4 p.m. if you can); it takes about 10 minutes. Read St. Faustina’s Diary. It’s a thick book but well worth the time.

My are, the Novena to the Immaculate Conception, Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Novena to the Chaplet of Divine Mercy.

If I could interject here…
Can all chaplets be done on a rosary? Or does ea one need it’s own actual chaplet?

It sounds like you are at a good start. I’ve been exploring confraternities lately. It’s hard to think of my favorite.

Are you involved with the Dominican-based Rosary and Angelic Warfare Confranternities? These are two beneficial groups I would encourage you to consider joining and enrolling in.

I’m glad you made mention of these! It is good to pray the Hail Mary! 🙂

Ooh, I love the Hail Mary and I memorized it in Latin. Heck, I used to pray the whole Rosary in Latin. The Divine Mercy Chaplet can be prayed on a normal set of rosary beads. I’ve prayed this Chaplet before and I’ve found a lot of peace in it. The Chaplet of Saint Michael has its own set of beads and the Holy Wounds Chaplet, I think; can also be said on a regular set of rosary beads. I like the Saint Michael Chaplet, btw. I have considered Rosary confraternities. There is a daily Rosary prayed at my church and I’ve considered doing that.

I forgot about Holy Hour. I do that too. As for your question Cthompson; no I’m not. Though I’d like to be involved with the Angelic Warfare Confraternity. I checked it out; it sounds cool. I’ll have to pray over it though.

It does not have to be done in a certain atmosphere or location. Your local priest can perform the ceremony and you will be enrolled. Much to gain, nothing to lose!

I love adoring the blessed sacrament as you spent each moment you spend with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament brings joy, pleasure, and delight to his Sacred Heart!
“My joy, my pleasure, my delight is to be with you.” (Prov 8:31). I will always try to pray in front of the blessed sacrament every day. I also a pray to the St.PIus X as he was deep devotion to the Eucharist, St. Pius X was the first Pope to emphasize frequent, even daily, reception of the Eucharist. As Cardinal of Venice, before he became Pope, he started Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration.

Yes, I am a member of the Confraternity. We are asked as members to pray 15 Hail Marys a day for chastity and purity. We are also given a special medal with St. Thomas Aquinas on it. If you struggle or have struggled in the past with chastity (something I have), then it is a powerful step in the right direction.

My favorites are the Little Office of the BVM, Rosary (chaplet) of the Seven Sorrows of Mary, the traditional Rosary, and reading the Pieta prayers.
