Alright, I know that not too many people on here are fond of Disney due to their lack of good moral values in many of their films. However, I am curious to know if anyone on here has a favorite Disney princess and for what reasons.

Let the games begin! 😃

Cinderella. Gotta go with the classic. 😃

And my wife says I’m supposed to be excited for ā€œFrozen.ā€

ABC - cause their fruity

Not ā€œprincessā€ like Cinderella, princess like property of the hell’s angels.

I love Belle and Snow White. Belle because I want the library in the movie. šŸ˜› I also love Cogsworth and Lumiere. Snow, because she is blacked headed, as I am. Most black headed people are the villain in the movies. šŸ™‚

I would go with a modern one: I like Merida! She is a very well depiction of the typical teenager with the difference that she learns that bad behavior brings bad consequences and tries to fix the mistakes she did šŸ™‚

when I was younger, much younger…I loved Sleeping Beauty…then Beauty and the Beast came out…and I fell in love with the character (and I mean I liked her character) of Belle because she loves to read like I do. For my last trip to Disney World, I even got someone on a Disney forum to make an picture that I could print out on iron on paper and I had a shirt with Belle on it for my trip - and at the Princess Lunch my sister, niece and I went to - Belle was the hostess (made my day). I still love Auorora (Sleeping Beauty) but Belle has a special place in my heart.

Mulan!

Due to her emancipation. And her story reminds me Jeanne d’Arc.

I was always fond of Belle. She and I are very similar, at least in one sense: Bookwormdom šŸ¤“ 😃

Mulan! Not a princess in the beginning, but in the end she was one through her own actions. šŸ™‚

Great answers so far!

As for my own…
Snow White; love the dwarfs!

I also pick Snow White. I am not really fond of the strange, high-pitched voice, but as a role model for girls today, she shows that not all the princesses need to be particularly curvy or thin. Just my humble opinion. :o

Definitely Belle or Mulan, though honestly the modern ones, Rapunzel and Tiana were not bad either.

If you had asked me a few years ago, I would have said Belle, she still is one of my favorites and I love the movie. Now Rapunzel is great. I am also a fan of Aurora (her voice), and I have really come to appreciate the movie and the art in it. I recently rewatched Cinderella, and realized that she is a very strong character as well.

Some runners up:
Mulan
Jane
Esmeralda
Nala
Jasmine

Ones I don’t really make my list would be Snow White, Ariel, Meg, Kida, and I have mixed feelings about Pocahontas.

Really I enjoy Disney in general, and while I am not a fan of Alice or Snow White and their movies, I still think they are worth watching. (I noticed that Maid Marian and Wendy didn’t make it on the Disney Princess list. šŸ˜‰

(I would say that some of my favorite Disney movies are not princess movies at all, but rather ā€œThe Great Mouse Detectiveā€ and ā€œSword in the Stoneā€ especially now that I have read the books). šŸ‘

I detested just about every Disney princess story out there until Brave. Having grown up without a mom, I just didn’t buy into the ā€œglamorā€ of the mom-less, dad-less, or orphaned life. And I found that the whole being saved by a handsome prince thing was too wishy-washy.

Merida has 2 parents and she is fierce and fearless. She reminds me a bit of Katniss from the Hunger Games, and I had just finished reading the book series before seeing Brave for the 1st time. Merida is self-reliant and she doesn’t wait around for anyone to come to her aid. It’s refreshing that she has 2 parents and exists in a traditional family. Our familys’ roots are Irish (mine) and Scottish (DH).

My little girl and little niece are total Merida fans, and I’m comfortable with my daughter taking Merida as a ā€œrole modelā€ because Merida’s character has so many strong points. My daughter has promised never to turn me into a bear. šŸ™‚

The only thing I don’t like about the story is the witchcraft angle.

Mulan has 2 parents and saves all of China of her own power, with a rather small bit of help from her ā€œprinceā€ (who isn’t really a prince) and the other soldiers. Not saying there’s anything wrong with Media, but Mulan met your qualifications first. šŸ˜‰

Mulan is my favorite, if you can’t tell. 😃

Tiana, from The Princess and the Frog.

A hard-working waitress from a hard-working family. Her values are my values. Her character is an example for us all.

The music in this movie is brilliant. These are not just pretty ā€œprincess songsā€ that someone created to please little girls. A lot of research into history and Louisiana culture went into each complex song. I’m glad that Cajun music was well-represented in the movie. My special favorite piece is Ma Belle Evangeline, since it’s my daughter’s name. But I love all of the music in the movie.

My husband is an Ariel fanatic. His office is filled with Ariel stuff, including a wall-sized applique.
