What are your favorite EWTN shows? and What are the ones you dislike the most?

My favorite are: Rome Reports, and Web of Faith.
My least favorite are: Holy Rosary with Mother Angelica and Nuns, and EWTN Religious Catalogue.

If you can’t remember your show’s name, try this: ewtn.com/tv/NAgrid0509.asp

Christ in the City, The Journey Home, and World Over Live are my current favorites, I guess.

I won’t list any least favorites. I do agree with your listing of Mother’s Rosary, however, simply for the fact that it seems strange to be viewing a TV production of others saying the Rosary. But if others find it that it inspires them, I have no problem with that.

I agree…I switch the Rosary production off.

In terms of programs I enjoy (no particular order):

Web of Faith
Fr. Pacwa’s Program
World Over Live
Christ in the City
Fr. Corapi’s Program
Fulton Sheen
The movies that are shown about Saints.Lives, etc
Journey Home

My favorites are the Journey Home, World Over Live, Father Corapi, Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament and the Divine Mercy Chaplet.

Some are informative and some I join in as if I were in church for the devotions.

Yours in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary

Bernadette

I agree on the rosary show.

There’s a show that is made in a question and answer format. Two priests answer email questions.

I liked Mother Angelica when she talked to kids. And when she sold things, she was a riot.

‘The Journey Home’. Marcus Grodie (sp) is awesome. Most of his guests have fascinating stories.

I like The Journey Home and The World Over. Mother Angelica could sell snow to Eskimos!

My favourites actually are so many:
-G.K. Chesterton: the Apostle of Common Sense;
-Defending Life:
-The Fulfillment Of All Desires;
-The Quest for Shakespeare;
-Father Benedict Groeschel Live:
-Footprints Of God;
-Now That We Are Catholics I and II(some years ago, with Kristine Franklin and Rosalind Moss);
-Fr, John Corapi And The Catechism Of The Catholic Church;
-Web Of Faith;
-Threshold Of Hope;
-The Rosary In Holy Land (years ago with Fr. Mitch Pacwa;
-Where God Weeps;
-Benedictions and Devotions;
-the Mass (at OLAM, at the Vatican or anywhere else);
-Catholicism On Campus;
-Bookmark:
etc., etc.

One thing I do not enjoy personally: Religious Catalogue. And that’s it!

Bookmark - with Doug Keck

The channel has changed quite a bit, without Mother Angelica, and since John Paul II died.

I haven’t been able to watch it as much as I used to, and there is less programming that holds my interest.

Benedict Groeschel had a nice program.

Andrew Apostali is a good teacher.

And there are a few others who provided some nice lectures on philosophical topics.

Someone mentioned and I forgot to add…Benedict Groeschel is EXCELLENT as well.

My favorites are:
  1. The Daily Mass
  2. The Rosary
  3. The Chaplet to St. Michael
  4. The Divine Mercy Chaplet
  5. The Journey Home
  6. The World Over
  7. Any program with Fr. Charles Connor
  8. All of the programs featuring the Fathers of Mercy, Fr. Wade Menezes et. al.
  9. The Abundant Life
  10. Rome Reports
  11. And all the programs hosted by ALL of the wonderful priests on EWTN. They are just to numerous to mention individually.
I have no dislikes.

Most favorite shows are The Journey Home and The World Over. I don’t care for G.K. Chesterton.

Actually BareKnuckler, I agree with you completely. I enjoy Rome Reports and Web of Faith a lot, but sadly, I’m not a big fan of the Holy Rosary with Mother Angelica. I truly appreciate all the wonderful things that she’s done for Catholicism and for the network, but her version of the Rosary tends to make me sleepy rather than inspired. Now, I absolutely LOVE her version of the Chaplet of St. Michael. I also don’t care for the EWTN Religious catalog, but I do understand that many people don’t have internet access, so it gives them a chance to buy some high quality Catholic items, so I wouldn’t change it. The EWTN Religious Catalog online, however, is superb.

In addition to BareKunckler’s suggestions, I also enjoy The Journey Home, Crash Course on Catholicism, the Daily Mass, and most of all, the weekday Chaplet of Divine Mercy. I dislike the more contemporary weekend version, although I know that many people enjoy it. I find the weekday version tremendously inspiring and meditative.

I think I’ve seen, at one point or another over the last couple decades, all of their different rosaries; the only one I can think of that I like is Fr. Mitch’s “Holy Rosary in the Holy Land”.

(I don’t know if they still air this, but I remember their Scriptural Rosary. Great concept and all, but the way they did it was that one voice would be reading a scripture passage, with another voice simultaneously saying the Hail Mary. I can’t imagine how that ever made it into the line-up, or why it didn’t get cancelled after a year or less. :o)

Well, here are my reasons for not liking them:

Rosary-Dull, and really no point, to me, I just don’t see what is supposed to be great about it, if I remember, Catholics hear the rosary a lot, as it is, mass and such, I mean, it gets kinda old, and I’ve seen the rosary thing, at least 6 times, and it annoys me everytime.

Catalogue- This drives me insane, it changes it from a spiritual channel, to a catholic version of amazon.com. I do not mind them selling it on their website, 24/7, but doing it on tv annoys me.

Why I like the others:

Web Of Faith- Neat, informative, and passionate.
Rome Reports- Have to keep up where my arch-enemy goes (the pope, thats a joke, do not take that seriously, if you do, then calm down, and eat some vanilla puddin 🤷)

Wow, the EWTN Live I just saw, was GREAT, I dunno who the nun was, but she was neat, the guy that hosts the show, put her, mother angelica and mother teresa together, so she must be important. I loved her, and the priest she had with her, they were really great. If anyone knows who I am talking of, please tell me.

According to the EWTN website, the guests tonight were Sister Briege McKenna and Father Kevin Scallon.

I’ll vote for:

Father Benedict Groeschel
The Journey Home
The Daily Mass

As far as Protestantism goes, I guess there isn’t really any equivalent of EWTN? (There are of course equivalents of individual shows, e.g. The 700 Club. But I think that’s about it, not a station/network like EWTN.)
