Favorite fictional president

This is kind of a follow-up to my post about West Wing.
Who is your favorite fictional President from movies or TV? Here’s an exhaustive list from Wikipedia.

I’m not sure they’re my real favorites but I like Kevin Klein from Dave and Harrison Ford from Air Force One even though the premises are absolutely ridiculous.
Least favorite, Frank Underwood from House of Cards though the character from the UK series is much more sympathetic.

President Josiah Bartlett from West Wing… hands down. My own political leanings would be closer to his moderate Democratic than anything else. Sadly no real president has really come anywhere close.

Second would probably be President Thomas Whitmore from Independence Day if just for his great speech and his willingness to hop into an F/A-18 to personally help save the world.

Honorable mention would got to President Henry Hayes from Stargate SG-1. He handles finding out that there are actually aliens and the subsequent attempt at invasion like a boss telling off a 10,000 year old “god” with great American bravado and gusto.

and to President Tom Beck from Deep Impact. Morgan Freeman’s Beck remains a calming presence despite the impending doom of the world, and is forced to make decisions I pray no president ever has to make.

Of course there is Martin Sheen as President Josiah Bartlet, The West Wing
I’d forgotten about John Goodman as acting President Glen Allen Walken. The West Wing
Michael Douglas as President Andrew Shepherd, The American President
E.G. Marshall as the President, *Superman II *(honorable mention to his hairpiece)
I also like Jack Lemmon and James Garner in My Fellow Americans

And, if I may cross from movies/teevee into literature: President Jack Ryan from several of Tom Clancy’s novels.

Jack Ryan from the Tom Clancy books. Much better in the books than the movies.
 
Funny on that list i saw that the president on " the Rock" was the president in “Armageddon”.

I know the list is just “us” specific but with so many futuristic and post apocalypse futures…
I give a nod to Sutherland as President Snow.

This thread also got me thinking of sci fi and future movies like the alien franchise where the Marines seem to be the predominate force in the future and in space. I wonder how the USA and the presidents fit into those situations.

In one book, which I won’t mention outside a spoiler, the president is elected running as a law-and-order type, but once he is in office, delivers a speech haranguing Americans for investing so much hope and power in one man, and promptly uses his power to dismantle most of the bureaucracy and restores a strict-Constitution executive.

Henry Fonda. I especially liked the interactions between the President and the translator.
