Oddly enough I’m lukewarm to it myself, but I usually go. My wife is Anglican and Easter is a time we try to be together for religious services, so I will usually go to the Vigil to fulfill my obligation, and then to her Anglican service on Sunday. This year she’s coming to the Vigil with me for the first time; last year she came to Good Friday, and this year it will be Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and the Vigil. I also find it fitting that all week we’ve been chanting the Pange Lingua of Venantius Fortunatus at Vigils and Lauds, then on Holy Thursday we chant the Pange Lingua of St. Thomas Aquinas at Mass; St. Thomas was inspired by Venantius Fortunatus’s Pange Lingua to write his, which has become better known (the earlier one is about the Cross; you will recognize it at the Good Friday liturgy, from the verses “Crux Fidelis”)…
