What are your favorite icons?
My favorite would be the icon of The Trinity by Rublev.


I love the icon of the Theotokos of the Unfading Bloom.
 
My favourite is The Black Madonna of Czestochowa.

On April 14, 1430, robbers, sometimes associated with the Hussites of Bohemia, looted the monastery and made three slashes on the face of Our Lady in an attempt to remove valuable stones, finally smashing the image into three pieces. In order to repair the icon, the original paint was removed and the icon was repainted. Although the icon was restored, the slashes in Our Lady’s face remain visible today.
 
Those are both very beautiful. I have never seen the Bloom one before. I also like Tender Mother, St. Faustina, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The Last Supper, and Jesus with the Bible open, “I am the Way”.

Our Lady of Vladimir. Her facial expression as she cradles & gestures to her Son suggests she is both offering Him to us & asking us to see & understand what we are asking of them. So poignant.

Hmm…looks exactly like the icon for the Infant Jesus of Prague

Thats very interesting… I just searched up the image of Jesus of Prague, we use that image in Kerala to represent Kuriakose the Child. Wow this is news to me, almost all churches named after Kuriakose in India use that image or a similar one. Sometimes he’ll be depicted wearing full gold with a golden crown as well.

I see you have a trial membership (as do I). That’s why we can’t post images, upload a profile pic, etc. It’s frustrating, and I don’t know when or how we get “full” membership.

Upgrades to membership are automatic as you post more.
 
I did some searching under the “Concierge Desk” forum and found this link that explains the ranking system:

In particular, I think this applies to you:

After making some posts AND accumulating a couple weeks of membership, “trial” members graduate to this title. New Members have some limited signature and graphics posting rights.
  • Yes, I’m being purposefully vague. Some additional tweaking may occur to the “promotion” rules.
