That is so sublime. The tear struck me right away…at the cemetery, when my father died, it was a very cold, snowy day. My mother had a single tear on her cheek that was glistening like a very pure crystal, and her expression of sorrow was so great…this painting reminded me of it right away. God bless.

I like the picture of the Madonna in Sorrow, and a less commonly known one of Jesus as an adult holding Mary.

I wish I knew the artist and name of the image. The image I posted isn’t magnified enough for me to try to make out the signature, but yes, it is beautiful.

Call me shallow, but I’m mostly a fan of sacred images from High Middle Age/Renaissance era forward. Older images are too stylized for me (i…e lack of high realism and expression).
