Okay, I’ll go first.

Here is a beautiful and popular Spanish song entitled: Fisher of Men.

Pecador de Hombres

Tú has venido a la orilla,
no has buscado ni a sabios ni a ricos.
Tan sólo quieres que yo te siga.

Señor, me has mirado a los ojos,
sonriendo has dicho mi nombre.
En la arena he dejado mi barca:
junto a Ti buscaré otro mar.

Tú sabes bien lo que tengo,
en mi barca no hay oro ni espada,
tan sólo redes y mi trabajo.

Señor, me has mirado a los ojos,
sonriendo has dicho mi nombre.
En la arena he dejado mi barca:
junto a Ti buscaré otro mar.

Tú necesitas mis manos,
mi cansancio que a otros descanse,
amor que quiera seguir amando.

Señor, me has mirado a los ojos,
sonriendo has dicho mi nombre.
En la arena he dejado mi barca:
junto a Ti buscaré otro mar.

Tú, pescador de otros lagos,
ansia eterna de hombres que esperan.
Amigo bueno que así me llamas.

Señor, me has mirado a los ojos,
sonriendo has dicho mi nombre.
En la arena he dejado mi barca:
junto a Ti buscaré otro mar

English Translation:

LORD, WHEN YOU CAME TO THE SEASHORE / PESCADOR DES HOMBRES
  1. Lord, when you came to the seashore you weren’t seeking the wise or the wealthy, but only asking that I might follow.
REFRAIN (English): O Lord, in my eyes you were gazing, Kindly smiling, my name you were saying; All I treasured, I have left on the sand there; Close to you, I will find other seas.

REFRAIN (Spanish): Señor me has mirado a los ojos, sonriendo has dicho mi nombre, en la rena he dejado mi barca, junto a ti buscaré otro mar.
  1. Lord, you knew what my boat carried: neither money nor weapons for fighting, but nets for fishing my daily labor. (REFRAIN)
  2. Lord, have you need of my labor, hands for service, a heart made for loving, my arms for lifting the poor and broken? (REFRAIN)
  3. Lord, send me where you would have me, to a village, or heart of the city; I will remember that you are with me. (REFRAIN)
    (Translation by Cesareo Gabarain)

Now, that was one who left his boat in the sand
And, left to seek other sea with the Lord. 🙂

“The Huron Carol”, written in 1642 by St Jean de Brébeuf, a Jesuit missionary at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons in Canada. Brébeuf wrote the lyrics in the native language of the Huron/Wendat people; the song’s original Huron title is “Jesous Ahatonhia” (“Jesus, he is born”). The song’s melody is based on a traditional French folk song, “Une Jeune Pucelle” (“A Young Maid”). The well-known English lyrics were written in 1926 by Jesse Edgar Middleton, and the copyright to these lyrics was held by The Frederick Harris Music Co., Limited, but entered the public domain in 2011. Middleton’s English lyrics:

'Twas in the moon of winter-time
When all the birds had fled,
That mighty Gitchi Manitou
Sent angel choirs instead;
Before their light the stars grew dim,
And wandering hunter heard the hymn:
“Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born,
In excelsis gloria.”

Within a lodge of broken bark
The tender Babe was found,
A ragged robe of rabbit skin
Enwrapp’d His beauty round;
But as the hunter braves drew nigh,
The angel song rang loud and high…
“Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born,
In excelsis gloria.”

The earliest moon of wintertime
Is not so round and fair
As was the ring of glory
On the helpless infant there.
The chiefs from far before him knelt
With gifts of fox and beaver pelt.
Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born,
In excelsis gloria.

O children of the forest free,
O sons of Manitou,
The Holy Child of earth and heaven
Is born today for you.
Come kneel before the radiant Boy
Who brings you beauty, peace and joy.
“Jesus your King is born, Jesus is born,
In excelsis gloria.”

This beautiful Gaelic hymn is a reflection on Psalm 17… A Prayer of David.

**‘Mo Ghrá Thú’ **

Chorus:
Mo ghrá Thú, a Thiarna (I love You, oh Lord)
Mo neart Thú (You are my strength)
Mo ghrá Thú, a Thiarna (I love You, oh Lord)

Mo Dhia Thú mo charraig is mo dhídean (You are my God, my rock and my shelter)
Mo sciath, adharc mo shlánaithe, mo dhún (My shield, ark of my salvation, my strength)
Glaoim ar an Tiarna dar dIeacht moladh (I implore the Lord worthy of all praise)
Agus déarta mo shaoradh ó mo naimhde (And I’d like to see myself safe from my enemies )

(Curfá) (Chorus)

Go maire an Tiarna, is é mo charraig É (May the Lord prosper, He is my rock )
Go raibh Dia mo Shlánaitheoir á mhóradh (May God be adored, my Savior )
Thug sé caithréim an dá Rí (He gave victory to the two Kings )
Agus nocht sé a ghrá dá ungthach (And showed His love to those He anointed)

(Curfá) (Chorus)
