Of course I have not listened to them all, but I really like Mass of St. Ann.

Speaking of the NPM convention, it begins today. Is anyone from here going to be attending? And for those who don’t know, the npm convention is the National Association of Pastoral Musicians conference. Really, one of the highlights of my year.

I HATE this setting. My church uses it and I brought up concerns that this setting is inappropriate because of its irregular rhythm such as the refrain “Glory! (pause) Glory to God…Glory! (pause again)…” Many of the church documents ban this type of music such as Tra Le Sollecitudini.

HATE? Really?

This setting has been approved by the conference of Bishops so that should dispel any concerns you might have.

Well?

On top of having an interest in the varied types of music which present themselves at the Mass (Gregorian chant fans will have to excuse me), I stumbled across this listing of many of the various settings:

what are your favorite settings? I have to say, of the ones I’ve listened to so far, the Heritage mass has been most to my liking.

Rgrds,

Matt
Solemn High Mass 🙂
