Post some of your favorite movies!

My favorites are Memento, Inception, Interstellar, The Dark Knight Rises(big fan of Christopher Nolan lol) The Sixth Sense was good(Shame it was one of M Night’s last films that stood out) The Out-Siders was a good Movie adaption of a book. and I also like Harry Potter and the lord of the rings(to be fair the books are a little better but the movie still are great none the less)
 
Terry Gilliam’s ‘Brazil’ was my favorite movie for a long time. I’d have to say my current favorite movie is 'Il Sorpasso," a black-and-white Italian movie from 1962 starring Vittorio Gassman and Jean-Louis Trintingnant. I also like Yasujiro Ozu’s 'Tokyo Story," and well a lot of others that don’t come to mind right now. I’m not sure I really have a favorite movie, since it depends what mood I’m in. Kurosawa’s ‘Ran’ and ‘Madadayo’ are also favorites of mine.

I also have very fond feelings for Jacques Tati’s ‘Mon Oncle’ and anything by Francois Truffaut. I would say Truffaut is my favorite director of all time.

I can tell that you know your films!

A few films that I love are ‘12 Angry Men’, ‘Grave of the Fireflies’ (an excellent anime film), ‘Baraka’ and ‘Contact’ - each for different reasons (although they are all entertaining and well-directed).

Passion of the Christ. and sooo many more especially of the older movies. They seldom make them like that anymore. God Bless, Memaw

Ooo, them’s fightin’ words. 😛 The Living Daylights was the first Bond movie I ever saw (at least in theaters) and it remains one of my favorites. (I’ll grant that Licence to Kill was a step down.)
 
My list, in no particular order.
  • Any of the Star Wars movies (live-action)
  • Star Trek II, III, IV, VI, First Contact
  • The Indiana Jones series (Raiders and Last Crusade are the two best, IMO)
  • The Mask of Zorro (but I pretend the sequel, The Legend of Zorro, doesn’t exist)
  • Ghostbusters
  • Galaxy Quest
  • Singin’ in the Rain
  • Ben-Hur
  • The Way Home (from S. Korea … wonderful movie, starring an elderly lady who had NEVER EVEN SEEN a movie before being cast in this one!)
  • Infernal Affairs (from Hong Kong … inspiration for Martin Scorcese’s “The Departed”)

  • The Alien series (esp. the first two)
