I love watching old music videos!

My list:

Almost anything from CMT back in the late '80s to early '90s (Martina McBride’s “My Baby Loves Me” is a favorite along with videos by John Michael Montgomery, Garth Brooks, Diamond Rio (“Bubba Hyde” is hilarious!) and also Sawyer Brown’s “This Time”.

“We Belong” – Pat Benatar
“Boys of Summer” – Don Henley
“Summer of '69” – Bryan Adams
“Karma Chameleon” – Culture Club
“Always” – Atlantic Starr
“Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now” – Starship

and many, many more!

Well, when there’s a good music video, it’s a REALLY good video. I think the video for “Blank Check” by Taylor Swift is funny funny funny – oh how postal she goes on that guy and that’s every guy’s worst nightmare. I would rank that video alongside Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” (either version) and a-Ha’s “Take On Me” as classic. No question.

I also like the video for “We Are Young” by fun., that part where the piano explodes.
I love this video for “We Are Young.” I love the song, and I laughed my way through the whole video when I first saw it, too! 😃

You mentioned Martina McBride, my favorite female country singer. Probably my favorite video by her is “Wild Angels” (link). It was made in New York City before 9/11; you can see the Twin Towers in the background in several shots …

Edited to add: another favorite by Martina is “Safe in the Arms of Love” (link). Really fun Cirque de Soleil-ish theme to that video.

I like bands that don’t take themselves too seriously. 🙂
Likewise, I liked Frank Zappas instrumental sections - they had humor in their self pretentiousness. But if/when lyrics came in…well, I’d usually comment, you can’t say that. 😃

I have appreciated some Prog rock but some was a bit self indulgent.

“Do You Really Love Me (Show Respect)” by Robyn. Video was shown in 1997/1998. So far, I consider this my favorite music video.

Three different guys try to court Robyn, who’s on top of a steel skyscraper being constructed. The first two try to bribe her with gifts and balloons, but only the third one has the guts to climb to the top of the building and offer HIMSELF. She ends up with him because of his “respect.”

No nudity or cursing, just charming fun. Robyn is still a star in Europe but has not had top 20-hits over here in years. Shame. Great artist and singer.

She also did an “Urban Remix” video of the same song some months later. More soulful this time (and not quite as good as the original version video, IMO.)

There ya go. :):D;)😛
